Yesterday, it was Shahrukh who hadn't struggled, today it's Kartik.. Vidya has already been discarded and same for Tapsee.. i am genuinely curious to know which outsiders barring Sushant actually struggled whose opinion would hold weight in this whole argument
@bold — Like that’s even a question.

Amitabh Bachchan (talented) debuted in 1969 and was considered failed in spite of successes until 1973 and Zanjeer
Madhuri Dixit (looker, dancer, at least moderately talented) debuted in 1984 and struggled for 4 years before Tezaab.
Juhi Chawla (looker, not-so-great dancer, above average actress) debuted in 1986. QSQT was a huge hit, but she got no attention. Rakesh Roshan even commented on it. It wasn't until 1992 that she started getting recognition.
SRK (above average actor when he chooses to be, okayish dancer, not a looker) debuted in 1988 on TV. Had success with Deewana and Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman. Still wasn't accepted. Went on to make a mark with negative roles. Eventually, in 1995 he had several back-to-back hits.
Akshay Kumar (looker, no talent, good dancer) debuted in 1991 with a flop. He got a hit in 1992 with Khiladi. He had a string of successes with teh Kihladi series and was never accepted as A-lister in the 2000s.

Point is that talent should be allowed to survive, not that all struggle should or can somehow go away. We live in a real world where families will always support one of their own.
Karthik succeeded despite the lack of the obvious qualities required in a star. So what exactly is he upset about? That it took him this long? He should be proud of what he achieved, not crying (which *he* didn't do) that it wasn't handed to him.
If there were actual sabotage attempts, he should speak out.
Lets add more
Dilip Kumar started in 1945-46 and was not considered successful till mid 50s or A lister when he gave string of hits
Dharmendras first movie was in 1957-58 not considered successful or A lister till 1966-67
Shatrugan Sinha started in early 70s but not considered a hero till late 70s
Same goes for Vinod Khanna
Sunny deol started in 1984 not considered successful till 1990 when ghayal came
Anil Kapoor started in 1978-79 not considered hit hero till Tezaab in late 1980s
So everyone needs 10 years to get that success or consider as A lister whether rank outsider or a insider star son
Only Salman/Amir and SRK had super hit from first or second movie. Still remember in 90s no one considered Amir Khan as a good actor or great star. Same goes to Salman he was never considered the great A lister till mid 2000s after wanted and a string of hits. He was just a side hero in many movies and gave an ocsassional hit now and than as solo hero. Both amir khan and salman were considered flop till 2000s actually. Because HAHK success went to madhuri not Salman and HSSH also was more to barjatya than salman. Only SRK was considered super star in 90s. Apart from him Sunny Deol and Govinda were considered super stars with many hits in 90s and anil kapoor too. But Amir and Salman were not considered super stars in 1990s. Only after 2000 the transformatin occurred a good 15 years after they started actually. Same goes to Akshay Kumar till mid 2000s he was neither a super star nor A lister nor considered a good actor more B grade star. Hrithik was considered a star from first movie only.
Before audience had patience to give oppurtunity after opportunity to a actor or star for more than a decade to improve sometimes 15 years like akshya, salman, amir were given to become super stars
Now audience has no such patience, first few movies and actors are declared flops and not given any opportunity except few star kids
Those who strived and swam continuosly survived others drowned.

Yeah, success takes time and effort. Expectations of instant gratification are ludicrous which is where this debate seems headed. People are cribbing about not having the red carpet laid out with their first hit. Forget BW, I'd like to know which other sector functions that way.
Problem with SSR's case is that there was (seemed to be) active sabotage going on, which is plain illegal and unethical whether or not he was talented.
Nothing of the sort (that I heard of) happened to Karthik Aryan. To his credit, he didn't say anything of the sort, but the contention in this thread seems to be that ANY struggle is unfair. The world doesn't function that way, hasn't functioned that way since the Big Bang. Rail about sabotage and toxic work atmosphere (bullying, #metoo, etc.) not that it took an outsider so long to get to the top even in the absence of unethical practices.
