BJP Vice-President : Some BW celebrities have verifiable links to ISI

BJP Vice-President Baijayant Jay Panda on Wednesday claimed that he has come across threads on social media which revealed 'personal and business links' of some Bollywood personalities with 'Pakistanis and NRIs' having a track record of encouraging violence in Jammu and Kashmir. He urged 'patriotic Bollywoodies' to renounce such celebrities.

"Came across shocking threads documenting personal and business links of some Bollywood personalities with certain Pakistanis and NRIs with undeniable track record encouraging violence in Jammu and Kashmir, who have verifiable links to ISI and Pakistan army. I urge patriotic Bollywoodies to renounce them," Panda's tweet read.

What’s the controversy about?

The controversy erupted after pictures of Bollywood’s superstar Shahrukh Khan and his wife Gauri Khan with Kashmiri separatist Tony Ashai emerged on social media. It is pertinent to note that Tony Ashai who also goes by the name Aziz Ashai, has been instrumental in urging Kashmiri youth to fight against India.

A popular Srinagar-based activist who goes by the name Al iskandar @TheSkandar on Twitter posted a series of tweets claiming that Tony Ashai, also known as Aziz Ashai, has been a member of the terror group Jammu & Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) sponsored by ISI.

Quoting Ashai's incendiary tweets, Al iskandar tweeted that he "himself is sitting in the cozy rooms of California and provoking Kashmiri youth to pick up stones and guns while his own son Bilal Ashai recently graduated from Los Angeles, University of Southern California with Masters degree."

Tony Ashai, he said, has designed Shahrukh Khan's Dubai buildings and Los Angeles apartments. The Bollywood superstar, according to the Srinagar activist, hired Ashai as an architect. Khan's wife Gauri, he claimed is involved with Ashai in a lot of her projects.

Al iskandar said that "it's a well documented plan" for Tony Ashai to use his Bollywood influence. Shahrukh Khan, he said, is a patriotic person himself but is not aware about Tony Ashai's plans.

Aziz Ashai (Tony Ashai) went to university in Buffalo, US, completely funded by JKLF, he claimed adding that there was a JKLF meeting which happened after his graduation in Italy. Moreover his first business, Ashai Design was also funded by JKLF, he tweeted.

"$450k came from a shell company in Birmingham in autumn of 1992. Moreover, his son (Bilal Ashai) is a member of MSA which has links to The Muslim Brotherhood."

Posting Ashai's pictures with Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, Al iskandar claimed that Ashai "is on payroll of ISI, who is in touch with many people in Jammu and Kashmir and other parts of the country."

The day Subramanam Swamy praised Kangana he also posted tweets asking if the underworld was involved in SSR's death and said the 3 Khans's wealth was due to the underworld (not for example, their hard work or three decade long career or anything. khan= underworld for him) so they should be investigated!

People are so genuine and sincere in their emotion for Sushant- as they should be- that they are not seeing where this agenda is finally being led. To attack Bollywood which has not gotten on the rightwing Sangh's bandwagon completely and SRK in particular because he has not cosied up to the ruling powers.his is what Kangana's "fight for justice" will end up- as a witchhunt for the industry.

They were showing THIS on prime time! At a time when there are floods in the country in Assam, China not backing down and economy badly hit due to Covid. And the BJP VP is posting about this??

It's also interesting to me that there were pictures of Akshay Kumar with Ashai as well- but ONLY a few people such as Ranveer and Kjo along with SRK's image was used. Why?

Simple.

A. Richest to 2nd richest actor in the world (very big deal) with substantial contacts in Hollywood

B. Immensely popular and beloved, even in his flop phase- goodwill among his fan base is high. Also he is synonymous with Bollywood world over- not because his films were so excellent or anything but his charisma- the diaspora is crazy about him, surprisingly even the younger generation. The RW dont like this influence.

C Grandfather was freedom fighter and therefore close to the Congress

D. Even though SRK is a modern and educated muslim (the only actor apart from Vidya Balan and Dev Anand who actually has a Masters degree) who is not at all religious, they still want a superstar who will sell their nationalist desh bhakti project aka Akki Kumar and Ajay. SRK would never in a million years do a Tanhaji or Toilet Ek Prem Katha (quite explicitly about Swachh Bharat) or interview the Prime Minister as a journalist during election time. He does the bare minimum but keeps his distance from current regime.

As for underworld, gimme a break, everyone from Anil to Rishi to Akshay to basically ANYONE who made films in the 90s intersected with the underworld money at some point. SRK among many others such as Kjo and Rakesh Roshan (as we know), actually used to get extortion threats in the 90s. Not a peep on this, But let's label him a Pakistani!!

They do nothing beyond making those claims despite all the ways they can verify anf prove it.
