So I saw the entire show till now in two days mainly because of Danish. So get ready for a long post 😆
Firstly Nageen comes across as an arrogant woman right from the beginning who does not have the manners to talk properly. Sultan never once looked at her the wrong way or tried to touch her. He just wanted to know her and she ruined his life. First you mess up badly then you have the audacity to tell the victim "please keep my name and family out of the scandal"...how selfish! Even when she first serves him water in the bus, she's got such an arrogant expression. It was clearly her fault; she spilled it on him. Where are your hospitality skills ma'am? You rip his card and throw it on his face, refuse to hear him out, and then when he gets angry you slap him and create a scene.
She created the drama in her own life by triggering someone who was genuinely interested in her. If she did not want marriage she should have seen his status in society, and then very politely said no.
It was after seeing all of Sultan's efforts (bechara stayed in the rain the entire night for someone like her) she falls in love with him. Or rather she loved the thought of having him.
Then after she runs away from her mess, I am okay with her having a second chance...but then she talks rudely to Haroon too, who only wanted to help you. This girl never learns anything.
Next comes Sultan. He was a real sorted guy. Taking care of the business, living his life, not crossing his limits, and he was very clear that he and Narmeen have compatibility issues so marriage is off the table. He had family issues so he stayed away from everyone. Had multiple girlfriends but never committed coz he knew it would mean a compromise that would ruin both individuals' life.
He was enamoured by Nageen because she was the only girl who didn't throw herself at him. Like they say opposites attract. So he became infatuated. But since he had an ego to satisfy as well, he devised a messed-up plan that ruined everyone's life.
A normal guy would say "screw you Nageen" and walk away. But Sultan's lived a very troubled life. He had no one except his Bijaan. So even the slightest betrayal or insult ticked him off. That wasn't Nageen's problem; but she should have behaved when he spoke to her so courteously. There was a huge difference between the guy who was harassing her friend and Sultan. While her friend's death shook her, couldn't she see that Sultan was not a vile cheapster?
It just drove him nuts that this woman was not even giving him a chance or hearing him out. And because he had a turbulent life he became obsessed with her.
While I don't support Sultan's plan, I understand the place where he is coming from. His entire family's reputation was ruined, one can only imagine the anger he would have had. And Nageen was hoping he would forget all that...its tough to!
Haroon: Nageen only agreed to marry him because she had no other choice. Remember the initial episodes where she wanted everything according to herself: a certain type of job, a certain type of life, a certain type of husband. Behen, you come from a part of society where you do not have so many options, learn to live happily with what you want. I do not mean to get married to some creep, but at least hear a person out before saying something stupid.
Narmeen was just a childish obsessive girl who wanted Sultan because he was merely a gift to her. She was actually the main culprit. She forcefully got married to a man who didn't love her and then was wondering why he is so quiet all the time. Then taana maarna, late night parties etc. She was never a wife. Sultan only became happy about the pregnancy because c'mon, it was his child after all. And he loved his child.
After 4 years:
Haroon's mother was really terrible. And Haroon shouldn't have been such a quiet loser. He should have been honest about his infertility and put his mother in her place for mistreating his wife. (Sultan would've never let something like that happen now would he?) He comes across as a typical male guy, and it looks like he could blast any second sometimes, because of all his life stresses.
Nageen should have been honest about her past. Haroon helped her when she was in major troubles, how could she think he would leave her? But now when he finds out and thinks about leaving her then it is her fault.
Sultan lost everything in his life and saw Nageen as his only redeeming factor. Honestly she messed him up badly, I don't even blame him for his actions and he deserves better.
However I do feel the writers could have brought in someone else who would actually match Sultan. That girl should have been a Masters holder, independent, modern yet traditional. Someone who would stick to their morals but know curtesy and manners. Someone who would challenge Sultan at an intellectual level. Someone who did not throw herself at him, but when he would get attracted and ask her out she wouldn't just turn him down. Someone who would make him question his actions and whose company would heal him.
Because it was pretty clear since the first episode that Sultan and Nageen would not end up together. She was too arrogant and hypocritical for him. She was worried about her respect but wanted him to forget how she ruined him AND his family's reputation. She drove him nuts to the extent that he lost everything and is now taking drastic steps like getting Haroon's ex back and stuff like that. He was wayyy too good for someone like her. I have seen girls like Nageen in real life and they have driven men like Sultan crazy.
I hope they end it with Sultan getting the closure he deserves and not death. He should migrate permanently and start a new life, learning from his past mistakes. Haroon deserves better too, but I feel he wouldn't leave his child so him and Nageen would remain in a loveless marriage. I hope Nageen realises how her sheer stupidity ruined so many people's life.
PPS: The writers have continued with the bad boy attitude because its hot to have an anti hero, especially if he is as good looking as Danish and secondly its the USP of the show. Still I would have liked another girl in the show who would really end up with Sultan and he would remain the bad boy for the world, but good and sweet for her.
