A handful of male actors such as Salman in Dabangg, SRK, etc get sole credit for their movies because of incorrigible sexism that exists in the industry that allows them to subjugate actresses to flowerpot roles, but even then, who got the credit for Kedarnath, or Badrinath ki Dulhania or Ek Main or Ek Tu? Or even Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara... did only one actor take the credit there?

Let's be reasonable here, Salman Khan movies like Dabang is NOT the same as you finding bizarre ways to credit only Kareena for a mulitstarrer like Veere Di Wedding.

i say Alia contributed to the success of Badrinath Ki Dulhania more than Varun (specially the second one)

everone else named in this poll is a flop.. theres only two successful only female Lead and its Alia and Vidya Balan

How would dear zindagi do without srk in it? It didn’t even make 100 cr.
2 states off of a book, even half girlfriend made money.
Raazi-patriotic theme.

The fact that dear zindagi did not work with a big superstar like srk, means content is a bigger winner than her bo pull.

Kangana with queen, tanu we’ds menu
vidya balan from dirty picture >

No cues, only box office pull worked for them.

As I mentioned earlier, this was the only film of her that hadn't opened well in the past decade. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about Kangana's films.

btw even in 2013 Gori Tere Pyar Mein opened better than Panga in 2020.😆🤣

No sole actor should get the credit as much as the media wants to paint it that way but unfortunately that's what happens. This is why I specifically mentioned movies like HNY, CE, or Bang Bang where it is not just one face on a poster with the leads having equal roles. In all of these examples, everyone contributed equally to the success but there was still a clear crowd puller. SRK to HNY is what Kareena is to VDW.

Every actor/actress has had flops in their career...I was just countering the way you chose to single out Kangana's flops to discredit her cinema impact.

Panga's first day opening was 2 cr. but Gori Tere Pyar Mein's TOTAL earning was 10 cr... go figure. 😆

You say that like it's a math equation. 😆 Kareena is just one of the four ladies in that movie, as far as I'm concerned, albiet Sonam and Kareena ranking a bit higher up than the other two lesser known faces. There's no way to "measure" her individual pull in VDW, so you can "think" that Kareena is the crowd puller of the movie, but others don't "think" so.

If you wanna beat the drum about Kareena every time a movie starring her does well... then be my guest.

The opening of a film shows the star power of a star not total earnings. Gori Tere Pyar Mein was a terrible movie that deserved to crash after the second day.

I thought we were talking about the current state of this actress, not what was the case in 2013.

btw I didnt single out Kangana's flops , I just took her last release which happened to be Panga and i didnt discredit her cinema impact. Although I don't like her, I have to admit that she is a great actress and therefore she will be remembered for her acting talent (among other things😆), but not for her star power.

Yeah Kangana is susceptible to fail just like any other actor or actress who also have hits and flops in their career. I wasn't claiming that she has some magnetic box office pull that never falters because big banners create that with their deep pockets. But this topic was asking for female actresses who draw audiences to theaters. To answer that, Manikarnika, which is a 2019 movie, managed the highest collection for a female-led movie. But someone here decided to counter that with Veere Di Wedding citing Kareena as the only jewel in that crown... just cuz it had massive collections.😆

Are you saying that Panga came out in 2020 and that somehow discredits last year's Manikarnika? Highs and lows are a part of the game.
