Multiple reasons.

First, inorganic was something I really loved but I realized organic was the bigger and better half of the World of Chemistry. I suck at Organic.

Secondly, I really wanted to do Engineering at that point and I was unsure where BSc and later PhD in Chem would lead me to, given I wanted to do a corporate job later, of which I was very very sure.
