I guess that's why some can't digest the future dynamics of Rudhita when even today people with this much or more age difference live together happily.

Actually the only problem is that Boni is child if she would be adult the age difference won't matter. But what's wrong if they share a hubby wife relation in future when Boni is adult.

It's heart touching movie based on pre independence era. The hypocrisy of society and the condition of women.

But still, those pandits paap punya ki baat karte hain itni choti baat ke liye bacchi ko aisa punishment dena paap nahi hai kya?

Exactly! and once she grows up, he said she'll be with RCs forever and if it's her choice it's her choice! Once she grows up the fact that they are husband wife won't change. Nevertheless, a similar story of Dr.Anandi who was educated by her husband when she got married to him so young, they both had children together later in their life. It's like Aniruddh's explanation for marriage.

At that time girls used to get married at that age or even younger. No matter what their age is, they were expected to be perfect bahu. So yea, they never see Bondita as a chhoti bacchi, a married girl would only be seen as a Bahu who should be in a certain way.

Exactly. Boni is not aware of her relation with Ani when she understands it she will definitely be able to make any decision about it. Yes there are other people who married child brides educated them but later had children.
