Those pathetic stalking scenes and later the heroine falling in love with the hero were a norm in Hindi cinema since ages!

Dil, Ishq, Mard, Tere naam to name a few..

Because of the lockdown, we were watching 80s n 90s songs.. and i found Why only the scenes.. many of the most melodious songs were picturised horrendously.. at least for me they are cringeworthy to watch with family

Most BW filmmakers have some kind of love affair with stalking themes. Feels like a projection.

Was randomly watching Govinda and Raveena’s movie with that Annkhiyo se goli marey song . Some of the scenes made me squirm. He was harassing her until she said yes. So problematic.

Wanted.

The lift scene makes me so uncomfortable.

So many movies of 90s and 80s glorified stalking and sexual harassment in the name of crush or love .

From the last decade , Raanjhana was a lil creepy when you think of the plot.

Kabir Singh. Raanjhana is better because of the ending. Yeah, the soft romantic song in the background can't be ignored but it's not a happy ending. Other movies not so much because of the time they made. But even in 2019 a Kabir Singh being made is worse. It is squirming compared to the rest.

Remember the cringy dialogues they gave Rani in the courtroom.. she practically forced the judge to get her married to the guy instead of sending him to jail.. yuck!!

The movie that instantly came to my mind was 365 DNI (Netflix) since there's so much hype about it lately (pretty sure mostly everyone heard about some "Massimo" guy even if you haven't watched it) . It's not a Bollywood movie but wow, the misogyny, sexual abuse under the garb of love shown in that film was pretty disgusting.

Nishabd - the movie per se isn't bad but it was creepy watching AB and Jiah Khan kiss

Dirty Politics - Mallika Sherawat and Om Puri romancing. Creeeeeepy.

Also, count me in the list of people who found the Kabir Singh love story toxic.

Oh yeah how could I forget Raanjhanaa?
