What makes a star “loved” by the Audience

What qualities of a star make them loved. For both actresses and actors

When an actor acts with their eyes and their dialogue delivery the way they own the entire movie and you think about how good they were after the movie finishes.

When they give performances that impress. When they give dance performance that impress. When they have other impressive qualities via looks, intellect or articulation. When you can see their work ethic speak for itself. Yes, though buzz and publicity are needed to help you get noticed and get attention on you.

Performance on screen, personality offscreen and screen presence

For me it’s impact. For example people like Hema Malini Salman, Preity Zinta , Katrina and Ash may not be the best actors but they certainly have lot of impact on the audience.

People will never forget them.

Nowadays social media has made everyone a fake star. I don’t think we’ve had a true star since Deepika/Katrina’s peak which ended in 2013.

Looks and screen presence otherwise some the biggest superstars would not be there were they are.

In my opinion Bollywood places a lot of importance and laser focus on the leads, whereas in Hollywood the leads are a small part of an entire experience.

Hence, in Bollywood, imo screen presence matters the most. Hence bhai.

I’ve said it 1000 times. Bollywood films are structured differently. Hero glorification is job no.1 within this structure it’s hard for anyone not the hero to breakout. But it’s always been like this and Aisa Hi Rahega. Just look at War or Kabir Singh Or Tanhaji

Right Now--Overexposure.

Getting all the good movies, social media presence, awards, interviews and appearing in tv shows.

The audience has no other choice as that is what is being presented.
