South Indian movie industry is the worst. All the top actors are relative of some popular male actor. Female actors are the biggest flower pot of the century. South Indian movies can be made without any female actor as these ladies have negligible role.

An average dark skinned south woman cannot be a female lead. It is only for fair skinned ladies.

are you talking about any particular industry ... cuz this gives out a very wrong prejudiced view...

i ardently follow the Malayalam industry ( being a mallu ) and this so doesnt hold true there...

but yea, exceptions - massy movies exist everywhr

I can't comment on all the south industry.

But in Mollywood, almost all the new male superstars are nepo kids. Dulquar, Fahad Fasil, Prithviraj, etc, but the difference is they are talented and passionate about the movies.

Fahad made his debut in his father's direction and the movie flopped, he took 10+ years break, learned acting and the re-entry was remarkable. One cannot deny his talent.

Dulquar's debut film was a mediocre movie, nothing exceptional but he conquered the heart of the fans with his charm.

Prithviraj debuted in a female-oriented movie, and without argument, he is the best-looking actor and the person who is very passionate about the craft and perhaps one who stood against the lobbyism in Malayalam industry.

Mohanlal tried to launch his untalented son but he failed to impress the audience. And Mohanlal star power in the industry cannot be compared with any other actors , still his fans didn't waste money watching Pranav Mohanlal's second movie.

Here the audience is selective, they won't fall for these PR articles, the only thing matters is the talent. Lobbying was the monopoly of Dileep, superstars or any influential people lobbying or denying a role for actors is not very common here except in the case of Dileep. Parvathy is like Kangana's better version in Mollywood, she criticized the superstar, and the superstar's fans united against her but still except one film, all her movies were hit. Here the audience judgment is decisive. No one will become a superstar just because critics or media highly rate them. They will watch the movie if it is good, will avoid it if it is bad. There are nepo producers, directors and on the other side there are immensely talented craftsman outsiders, they won't cast a nontalented actor in a role just because of the influential people.

There were many objections from Dileep and his followers when Manju warrier made the second entry in movies but despite all this she is now the lady superstar in Mollywood that too in her late 30's.

I think nepotism exists in the south industry as well... there have been reports of suicide in the past from this industry as well... its equally murky and no one speaks about it or hasn’t yet...

Yaar, I can't hate DQ. I just can't. There is something so endearing about him, as a person. I don't follow anyone else from Mollywood or Bollywood. Never did.

Talking about Malayalam only:

Every 2nd superstar is an industry kid. No two ways about it. But the kind of pressure created through blinds/media/fake PR is not rampant there. Inki films are mostly promoted via their crazy fanclubs.

Some major differences between Btown and Mollywood

1. Main thing: Most of them turn into producers after acting for 4-5 years. DQ, Fahadh, Prithvi, all of them have done it. Then wo khudke liye banate hai movies. Kaun rokega? Will you say 'don't launch yourself'? smiley36

2. Waha ki junta is crazy. They have such scary fanclubs of actors. The filmmakers actually thank the fanclubs in the film credits. Its a norm there. Imagine KJo thanking IF's Bollywood forum in his films🤣 Adha darr toh actors ko fanclubs se lagta hai. They think twice before dissing contemporaries.

3. The concept of promoting films was totally alien to them 5-7 years ago, even now they don't have any grand tamasha around promotions. If its a very veryy big film then they have a special 1 hr interview for it. That's it. In the last few years they have started aping Hindi TV and have a few shows that are like (1) Kapil Sharma show; (2) Singing/dancing shows. Usme bhi no one promotes films on a regular basis, they just can't be bothered.

4. Waha, they release 1 poster, 1 trailer, and they are done. They move on to the next film. These guys do 6-7 films a year. Most of them work in 2-3 film industries. Most are married with kids, so free time is family time or affair time🤣.

5. Most of them are introverts, they shoot their film, give 1-2 interviews and ho gaya. They don't care about social media also.

6. Waha ke viewers khatarnaak trolling karti hai, in real life (not social media). They boo the shit out of films they don't like. I have seen it happen. It's crazy. No father, godfather can help you if they don't like your film.

Waha aise chote games nahi hote. They have next level shady shit going on down South. Whether its politics or cinema. Have you heard about actor Dileep's case? Some of the scary shit that happens there, even Bollywood cannot match it.

I heard that Actor Dileep also Manju Warrier's former husband was involved in kidnapping and molestation of actress Bhavna. All for revenge.

👍🏼

I wish dilip's minions in the industry also fade away.

There is a lot wrong with mollywood but nepotism is the least of the issues. Minus dq all the industry kids that made it big like fahad kunchako and prithvi went through a lot of struggle at different stages of their career. For the last two because it was due to a lobby but it made them better people.

For every industry kid who made it big in malayalam movies there are equal number of outsiders who are at the same level and 10 times industry kids that faded away after one or 2 roles.

This! Also, I don't think waha producers also waste so much money on you. Like Abhishek had 10 flops, itna paisa Mallu producers won't waste on you to nurture you. Unless you don't give them the profits, they are not going to spend money on you. If at all there are any such charity cases in Mollywood then I am not aware of them.

@Manju Warrier: I love that woman. She is shining brighter than ever with her second stint. More power to her. A well-deserved star. I feel so bad she gave it all up for that good for nothing Dileep. We could have had so many marvelous performances from her in these years.

I must add that I adore fahad's story.

How many of these entitled Bw brats after giving flop after flop and not just one like him, bothered to sit back and analyse what's wrong and how they can rectify their inputs if cinema is really their passion.
