I wasn't as active on this forum when the film released. And even though she performed better in the film compared to her usual work. BUT it was Sushant Singh Rajput who KILLED both the role of a dad and a IIT grad. It fit him like second nature. Both the comic scenes as a young nerd and then the emotional scenes as a vulnerable dad were beyond amazing. It hard to showcase both sets of skills. Shraddha was a college bomb she didn't get any comic scenes and had fewer vulnerable ones.

Ironically this is one of the movies I was planning to watch but after this sad news, I can’t watch it

Almost all the reviews focus more on his bad makeup for aging rather than the great performance. Most didn't comment on him much at all. And neither did Rajeeve.

I know alot of guys if they read that about themselves they'd be proud

"Sushant Singh Rajput plays the part with ease and is apt as Anni. He’s not playing the typical ‘hero’ as such and slips into the character and performs accordingly. In the older portions, he’s quite good and has modulated his voice a bit which is praiseworthy. Shraddha Kapoor lends able support. Her character sadly doesn’t have much to do after a point."
