I really wish I had started writing a journal when I was having a very hard time regulating my emotions. It's very helpful to write things you are overwhelmed by on a piece of paper instead of letting it turn into a bad moment of outburst. It sounds simple but it can help. I used to think diary-writing is some ancient practice because everyone is on social media nowadays and who writes things down in diaries now? But it's actually a really good and mindful practice that can prove as cathartic for releasing your emotions.

That is a very kind post. Thank you.

One of the reasons why mental health is difficult to cope with is it can take a while to correct or for the medicines to take effect. Please don’t lose patience as you are waiting for it all to come together. Have faith in yourself and a higher entity who is working in your favour, and always show compassion and empathy. Have faith it will all work in the end even if u don’t see how.

I read something in a book once about 11th hours. 11th hours are basically those times in your life where everything seems to fall apart and nothing comes together no matter how hard u try. but the book also says, history has been innundated with examples of people who stuck through the 11th hour, only to have their life completely turn around a few days, years later. Believe in that concept that ur worst point could be the time right before u jump back up to the sky. Please just stick around to see that. The law of averages will catch up and u will get your due.

also note that as humans, we are fragile and limited in our ability to give. Be mindful of that when you are reaching out to your friend of family member for help, to make sure they themselves aren’t going through mental issues and have reserves to give to u.
Likewise if u are supporting a close friend and feel drained or exhausted, please reach out to someone just the way your friend/ family member did.

reach out to helplines and anyone (councillors, doctors) who are able to assist if you are conscious of bothering your family members.

Try donating to non charitable organisations in your capacity so that they can maintain their lovely volunteers and services.

Absolutely. And there is a reason why it's so therapeutic. Journal-ing or writing diaries is a visual medium to sort out your feelings. When you see your feelings put to paper, that's acknowledgement which is the first step towards acceptance. More often than not, we tend to bottle up feelings and they eventually glues themselves to our already insecure mindset. The repression and supression has to find an outlet eventually and it shows up as part of our psyche in later years subconsciously so it's always advised to take it all out when it happens and diaries are an instant solution.

True. Also it's important to note that one bad instance of therapy shouldn't discourage anyone from trying again with a different therapist. If something doesn't fit your groove, you can move on to a different doctor. A lot of people give up on therapy if it's not a pleasant experience at first. Also with medicines you can always ask for different ones if something is not suiting you. Mental health should be treated just like physical health.
