Yes a bull blown masala movie with top hero, she brings in a sizeable amount of numbers, but in acting oriented ones, she is definitely behind Alia. Because Alia has that image of good actress, Deepika doesn't.

yeah right. Alia can’t pull numbers without a big star and a patriotic film. She’s also not even good looking and not that an amazing of an actor. She rides on content nothing else, just like ayushmann to an extent. Take her content away, and there’s nothing going for her. Also can’t imagine people actually caring for her in 30’s as there will be younger actresses to play that youth card she still tries to pull at fricken 28 years old.

Her hype period is nothing on deepika number 1 or not. Deepika made Impact which had nothing to do with content at some point in time. Which alia could never do.

Alia being this mind blowing actress is a fabrication. She is a decent actress but her ability to “pull” comes from the Merit of content. She is a better actress than deepika, but that’s not enough for her to draw in an audience by such a large margin when deepika is clearly looked upon by masses and metros as a star.

I do think she is still the no. 1 actress personally and may not be on merit of bo today but no one has been able to attain what she has in terms of success.

She only gets hits when she works in a big budget commercial potboiler with big male leads..all her small films with content have flopped be it Finding Fanny or Chappakk..only Piku worked that too had Amitabh and Irrfan. She has zero stardom on her own..kangana, Alia, Vidya has more audience pull then her when it comes to content films...

Piku did well. So how does that make the other 3 bigger stars specifically? Didn’t panga flop? So how does kangana have bigger pull?

Kangana's Queen, TWM 1&2, were big hits even Manikarnika did 90cr with no big male lead..Like I said when it comes to content, people trust Kangana more then Deepika..

but then why did panga flop? It had no big star in it. What about Simran, or katti batti? I do think content and a particular film clicking with the audience has big say on whether a film does well.

Not all masala films work, same with content films but when it comes to content People have more faith in Kangana, Aloo and Vidya then Deepika cos she's not known for her acting capabilities.
