Part 8

Neil spent that whole night tossing and turning on bed. He didn’t sleep for a minute while Mini slept peacefully. Neil kept looking at her fighting his inner battle about to come near her or not. Whenever Mini turned towards him in sleep and her body touched him, his heart would do somersault but his mind would stop him from holding her. He was in personal hell throughout the night. He could catch some sleep only in the early morning when his mind and heart were tired and gave up fighting as fatigue become too much to handle.

Mini woke up at her usual time. She opened her eyes and blushed as she saw she was sleeping very close to Neil. She got up and went to the bathroom to get ready and start her day. Mini came out of the bathroom when she noticed Neil has turned in his sleep and now was sleeping on his stomach. His hair was all messed up. He looked so cute like that. She couldn’t control the urge to caress his hair and put them back from his face. She nervously came near him and sat on the edge of the bed. She extended her hand to touch him but then pulled it back anxiously partly because she didn’t want to disturb his sleep and partly because she was afraid of his reaction. What if he would scold her for touching him like that? She would be heartbroken. She controlled her emotions and stood up but she didn’t notice when in his sleep Neil had put his hand on the edge of her saree pallu and as she stood up her saree pallu was pulled and slipped down revealing her cleavage behind the matching blouse. Mini gasped and quickly tried to pull it back.

She came near the bed and tried to pull her pallu slowly without waking up Neil. In the process she was almost leaning over Neil. Her wet long hair touched his face and tickled him. Neil opened his eyes and what he saw before him mesmerized him completely. Mini hovering over him teasing him with her wet hair and showing off too much of her creamy skin and cleavage for his comfort. For few seconds he thought it was a wet dream as a result of long torturous last night. But when Mini again pulled her pallu the sound of her bangles brought Neil out of his trance and he became aware of this beautiful and tantalizing reality.

“I…was….I was…just….” Mini started stammering as she noticed Neil was awake now. She pulled her pallu with jerk now as she tried to run away but Neil caught her hand and looked at her intensely as if to know whats going on in her mind. “She willingly came to you. You cant leave this chance now.” His devil side groaned with passion. “You cant take advantage of her feelings. You don’t love her.” angel side reprimanded. “Don’t listen to this winged man. He spoils the mood every time. Take the plunge.” Devil side provoked Neil as he shoot daggers at angel. “No,control yourself. Don’t listen to this corrupted horned man” Angel side fought back. “Ok, what about a kiss…no harm in just an innocent little kiss.” Devil side tried to lure him again. “But…” angel side tried to argue but devil side spoke again. “just a kiss…no big deal. Don’t worry about this angel I will take care of him.” Devil threw a flaming arrow at angel and burned him to death. “Yes! No harm in just a kiss.” Neil repeated mentally and devil side smiled in triumph.

Neil pulled Mini and she landed on top of him. Mini started breathing fast as she felt Neil snaked his other free hand from her back, touching her sensuously, to her hair. He gripped her hair brought his face very close to her. She closed her eyes in anticipation and Neil placed his lips on her. He kept pressing his lips on her for few seconds but didn’t get any response. “F**k!” he groaned mentally as he didn’t like unresponsive girls. He was about to give up when she finally opened her lips and started responding to him. He kept kissing her for what felt like an eternity. He broke the kiss but the very next second his eyes fell on her cleavage and with her intoxicating just bathed fragrance already messing up his senses it became impossible for him to let her go. He rolled her over and came on top of her and continued his kissing session.

After sometime they both were lying in each others arms, naked, covered with blanket. “What have you done you pervert?” angel side rose again from the ashes of its dead body and confronted Neil. “Relax, let him take some rest he has done a lot of workout.” Devil side smirked. “You said just a kiss.” Angel side reminded him. “Yes, and he has just kissed….her whole body.” Devil side burst out laughing. “He made love to her but he doesn’t actually love her. He took advantage of her feelings.” Angel side accused Neil of foul play. “Oh come on, spare him the lecture. She is his wife. Married people are supposed to f**k each other and besides she enjoyed it too.” Devil side winked. “You will make him just like you corrupted and devious.” Angel directly insulted devil. “Bugger off! Looser” devil purred. And soon they got involved in fight. “Shut up you two.” Neil blurted out loud. “Huh! What happened?” Mini asked startled from his sudden reaction. “Nothing….nothing…I was just….I think I need a coffee.” Neil tried to cover up. “Oh, ok I’ll get it for you” Mini replied as she tried to get up holding sheet up to her chest and gasped looking at wall clock as it was already 8.00 am. “Oh God! Its too late. I have not even done pooja yet.” Mini exclaimed as she picked up her clothes and hurried to the changing room.

Mini came out of the room and saw her mummiji and papaji were already having their morning tea. She looked down in guilt as she thought today mummiji had to make tea for herself and papaji. She wished them good morning and went to the temple for her pooja and then almost ran to the kitchen to make coffee for Neil. Sharda came into the kitchen when she noticed Mini was pouring coffee in the cup. “Today you woke up late. Are you alright?” Sharda asked affectionately as she put her hand on Mini’s forehead to check if she has a temperature. “No, nothing…I am ok…” Mini said as she blushed profusely. Sharda noticed her blush and was about to say something when her eyes fell on a red mark on her neck. She understood everything at once. Sharda just smiled at her and let her go. She sent a silent prayer to God as she finally saw that her children’s relationship is making some progress. She thought to share this news with Babita.

Neil got ready for the day and by now the after effects of sex had subsided down he came to realize that he indeed took advantage of Mini’s feelings. She loves him and was ready to surrender herself to him and he just used her to fulfill his needs. He was now angry at himself for being such an insensitive guy. Mini came inside with his coffee. She handed him the cup but he didn’t even realize that engrossed in his self pity he very rudely asked her to keep the cup at the table. Mini felt a sudden jolt rose from her heart and got settled in her stomach bursting the bubble of her new found happiness. Neil searched for his formal clothes in his cupboard when Mini asked him, “You want something?” “Yes, peace of mind. Can you give that?” Neil blurted out before he could stop himself. Mini immediately turned around as she felt her eyes watering up. Neil took a deep breath to control his emotions. He looked at Mini and wanted to say sorry but was not ready to start a conversation with her right now. She acting all normal and doing her wifely duties like nothing happened had unnerved him. He felt amount of respect which she gave him and unconditional love which she has for him he was not worthy of it. She didn’t stop him even once when he took liberty with her and went on to use her to satisfy his desires. He was not surprised it was her first time. She consider him as her God so obviously she had saved herself just for him and he very shamelessly took everything from her. He doesnt deserve a girl like her.

Neil left for office without even having breakfast. Mini on the other hand started crying hurt from his behavior. She couldn’t understand his sudden changed behavior. She thought that this morning was the most beautiful morning of her life. She remembered their intimate moments and suddenly gasped as a thought occurred to her. “What if he did all that in a weak moment and then regretted it later or even worse what if he didn’t like it with her. She knew he had some flings in the past. She couldn’t help but compare herself to those girls. She was just a novice to all this. what if she was not good enough for him?” She closed her eyes shut to stop all these heartbreaking thoughts. But she couldn’t stop her tears which started flowing continuously on facing the rejection both physically and emotionally from the only love of her life.

Mini spent whole day in her room thinking how she can win Neil’s heart. In the evening Babita came to meet Mini. “This is the benefit of marrying of your daughter in the neighborhood. You can come to see her anytime.” Babita said and hugged Mini. Sharda and Babita kept talking while Mini sat their half heartedly. After sometime Babita stood up to leave.“Arre thodi aur der baitho na itni bhi kya jaldi hai?” Sharda asked. “Arre Minni ke papa bhi na waqt ke sath sath chidchide ho gaye hain subah subah chhoti si baat par jhagda karke gaye mujhse. Muh fulaye baithe honge din bhar office mein toh socha kyu na unki pasand ka dinner bana doon aaj. Isliye mujhe bahut kaam hai aur nahi ruk paungi.” Babita replied. “Favorite khana kha ke papa ka gussa durr ho jayega?” Mini asked as she got a hope to solve her problem. “Aur nahi toh kya….mardo ko manana kaunsa bada kaam hai? Bas favourite dish bana do. Aakhir unke dil ka rasta unke pet se hokar jata hai.” Babita said and laughed as she winked at Sharda who also laughed with her. Babita took their leave. Mini asked Sharda, “Mummiji have you told servants to make dinner?” “No, not yet. Why are you asking?” Sharda asked. “Then no need to tell them anything. Today I will make the dinner.” Mini said and smiled. Sharda understood that she wants to make Neil’s favourite dishes. She just kept her hand lovingly on her head and smiled, “Ok.”

Mini made all Neil’s favorite dishes for dinner. She and Sharda were waiting for their husbands to return from office when Devrath called Sharda and asked not to wait for them on dinner as they will be late. Sharda informed Mini and asked her to join her on the table as she sat to eat. But Mini refused saying she wants to wait for Neil. Devrath and Neil returned late at night. Neil was in a very bad mood. First all the frustration from the morning and then at office. It was his first day at office and he now understood why his dad kept saying that he and Hanuman uncle were growing old and they cant manage the business alone. Office was full of chaos. No professionalism, no seriousness. All was result of his dad’s and Hanuman uncle’s old and liberal ways of handling employees and business. Very first day he had to shout on few senior employees. He had called an emergency meeting to revamp companies policies. He wanted it to be more adaptive of today’s competitive world. He was irritated and tired from all of this.

Devrath and Neil came inside and Neil saw Mini was sitting resting her head on dinner table. She woke up when she heard Devrath’s voice. “Papaji, you go and freshen up while I serve your dinner.” Mini said. She saw Neil already went into their room without even looking at her. Both of them came back to dinner table and Mini served them food. Neil looked at the plate all were his favourite dishes. He smiled as finally something good happened in this day. He took a spoon and started with dessert first. He closed his eyes in content as he savored the taste of gajar ka halwa. “Mom, this is amazing.” Neil praised his mom thinking she must have made it. “Mini has made today’s dinner.” Sharda informed than laughed at his expressions. He clearly looked shocked. “Mini, why don’t you sit too as you have also not eaten anything. I’ll serve food.” Sharda said as she gave a plate to Mini. Mini sat down and Sharda served her dinner. “Why she has not eaten yet?” asked Devrath. “Because she wanted to wait for Neil.” Sharda said with teasing smile as she looked at Neil. Neil lost his appetite as once again he got the proof of Mini’s selfless undying love and he remembered the morning incident. He felt guilty again. What did he do to get a wife like her. He stood up from the dinner table saying he is very tired and need rest. Mini looked at him longingly. Dev and Sharda saw her disappointment. “Don’t worry Mini, it was a really hectic day at office he must be tired. I am giving you company for dinner.” Dev tried to cheer her up but Mini couldn’t eat anything after that.

Mini went in their bedroom after sometime and saw Neil was already sleeping. By now she was convinced that all the doubts she had in the morning about Neil not liking her and being intimate with her in a weak moment were true. She changed her clothes as she kept crying silently. She moved towards the bed but then stopped. If Neil didn’t like her then whats was the need to share a bed with him. She again took out extra mattress from the cupboard and lied down on floor. Neil got up after sometime to drink water. He saw Mini was again sleeping on the floor. First he couldn’t understand but then he replayed the whole day’s incidents in his mind and realization struck him like a lightning bolt. He was so drowned in self pity and self loathing that he didn’t even realize he was being rude to her. In order to avoid her he actually took out all his frustration on her. He closed his eyes as he finally came to realize how stupid he has act the whole day with her. He wanted to wake her up and ask her to sleep on the bed but then he stopped himself. He didn’t trust himself anymore around her. whenever she is in close vicinity, he acts like a horny teenager. “Better let her sleep tonight there only. In the morning I will talk to her.” Neil thought and again went to sleep.
