LOL so funny story (not really) but I was going to India the day after my semester ended so I was at the airport checking my grade on my phone. It showed that I failed the class and I literally had a breakdown in the middle in the airport. People were staring at me and my parents were like omg stop crying or people will think we are kidnapping you 😆 but then during my layover, I checked my grade again and they had curved it up. I was still not happy with the grade but at least I didn't fail and wouldn't have to take the class again.

That disgusting.............you guys should have complained to the chair............prof. also needs to explain if the class didn't do well.

lol that's true...I've received letters about grade changes too...i don't like the whole curving thing too but all students scored pathetically despite studying to the best of their ability then the professor would curve ...its unfortunate that students withdraw from the classes esp after midterms...

Well he's been there for years and is on tenure track so they won't fire him. But, he was banned from teaching full semesters and could only teach summer classes which tbh he shouldn't be allowed to do that either.

yeah once they are tenured, then its impossible to fire him for some amount of years..i think 10 years or something but things might've changed now..

Exactly...I stayed in that class because I didn't want a W on my transcript so I was literally depending on a curve but @bold if students are studying the best of their ability using the resources assigned from the professor and majority of the class does bad then it means that the prof is doing something wrong.

But, on the other hand I've had some really good professors who provide so many resources because they want to see us LEARN and academically succeed. These professors are always available for office hours or over email. So, when students do bad in these type of classes, they aren't trying hard enough because you have all the resources and a prof who is willing to help but you have to reach out because they have 1000+ students.

LOL it's been three years since I took that class and now all of a sudden I feel like I'm in that class again and I have an exam tomorrow. College is simultaneously the best and the worst time in your life.

Don't think that firing is always applicable but some other steps like dropping/suspending classes and removing classes can be taken.
