I love love Bhishma Arjun bond. It reminds me of my own grand father :)

FlauntPessimism was saying in one thread that had Bhishma not have had that oath of brahmacharya, she could be sure Bhishma was the one who fathered Arjun 🤣 I was so inclined to believe this xD

Yeah

The pillow thing reminds me of my grandmother, she always asked me rearrange her pillow ♥️

What about Niyog? He is not breaking vow of Brahmcharya by it, is he?

Yeah he is, he decided to live without sex forever as per Brahmacharya - he can't have sexual contact with any woman.

Tbh, if Arjun would have been Bhishma's son then he would have been the actual heir to the throne like Bhishma was. 😆

He shouldn't have a kid, with Niyog he will have a biological child

This is the reason he disagreed for Niyog of Ambika and Ambalika

Btw, out of topic,

Wasn't it an accepted practice of brothers of husbands to be invited for niyog?

Why couldn't then Vidur be openly called for Kunti's niyog?

Vidur was a DasiPutra, maybe they didn't want to reveal that their son is the biological progeny of a slave woman.

Or else maybe they wanted to give a divine birth theory to make Pandavas more beloved.

Saying that might be that they were originally clearly and openly known as Vidurji Niyog. Later by time the book was penned down people had misunderstood him to be some Devata

Ichha-mrityu, means the ability of a soul to leave the body, at one's own will.

It doesnt mean suicide. 😆

When kaliyug will remain approximate 200 years to finish then maximum life of human will be 20 years

And people will get old by around 15 and height of man will very much decrease and live in hole means inside earth hole

Prob because of HP politics. Look at what happened. Pandu marries Kunti, and Dhritharashtra marries Gandhari. I believe Dusshala was actually older to her brothers, so everyone knew Gandhari could get pregnant. This part is conjecture from my trying to understand why Bheeshma didn't look for another wife for Dhritharashtra like he did for Pandu.

Bheeshma then arranges Madri for Pandu. Since Kunti hadn't gotten pregnant by the time, they likely thought it was her "fault." But when Madri also doesn't get pregnant, they know it's Pandu. He retires to the forest to plot.

Gandhari becomes pregnant again.

Pandu knows he needs niyog fast or Dhritharashtra's kid, if a boy, will become next king. Vidura is the most convenient as he is a brother. Plus, he is Vyasa's bloodline, so the child will have support from Vasishta-Varunis. But he is dasi-puthra and never considered a candidate for the throne. In the list of potential niyog sons, I believe sons from lower castes are listed last. So a child openly known as Vidura's biological son would probably have opposition to his claim on the throne. Easier all around to keep identity hidden and claim it was done by the gods.

Thanks!

So it was Pandu's jealousy that led to Yudhishthir's birth via niyog as per what you said. Also explains why he didn't call Dhritarashtra for niyog- because he wouldn't let Kunti get pregnant before his own son was born I guess?

However, Dhritarashtra is also born of Vyasa so his son too would have Vashishtha-Varuni support. Why would they prefer Yudhishthir?

Can you imagine Suyodhana following Vyasa's or Bheeshma's instructions like Yudhishtira did?😆 And no matter what big brother did, the younger ones would follow along.
