Even if we go by your calculations, from today's perspective how is it possible for a 90 y/o or even a 70 y/o to fight wars like Bhishma and Drona.

Main problem is we try to analyse everything from our time's perspective leading to not believing most of the things mentioned in the scripts.

If life span is much longer then kaliyuga ie 100 years, person in dwapar yuga is fit, healthy even at the age of 150 years.

We are talking about kshtriyas. They are physically much stronger. Being trained in warfare they can fight at any age.

Yes if lifespan was much longer then it solves the whole bit. But if we remove this, then it's impossible to have 80-90 year olds fighting at this age. I am inclined to believe life span was higher if Mahabharata is indeed history and not stories.

Now technically one skeleton is not enough anthropological evidence. What if that particular person died young or something.

I found this link of a blog where the author has given his own calculations. This seems probable, y'all might want to check.

I don't know how long they lived but life expectancy is different in different nations depending on health care, quality of life, child mortality rate etc

Basically, Child morality rate and mortality rate affects the life expectancy which is basically an average

For example - Central Afterican Republic has life expectancy of 50 years, but we do have countries where the average is 30 odd years higher

Say a family has 10 children, 9 are still born and one lives for 150 years, the life expectancy of this generation is 15 years

People can be fit till late ages if they go proper workout or exercise for years

My nanaji died at 82, and till then he was able to do hard Yoga posture

Dadi died at 80 and till a year before her death she fasted for Chhatt puja (which involves practically 4 days continuos fasting and 36+ hours continuous fast without even a drop of water)

There might have been people who were more fit n healthy

He is assuming that Rajsuya Yagya only took 2 years that seems not possible to me. Even a single battle takes much time and travel etc. and here they were attacking across the country

Secondly while he is considering 22 as the time of Subhadra at her marriage mentioned in Puranas, missing out the 33 years since Gandeev mentioned in Mahabharata

Yeah I have also heard in Europe the life span is much higher. (look at our Queen xD)

Technically medical facilities are more advanced now than it was then, I believe. This is quite confusing, not sure what to believe 😆

Yeah alot of the facts contradict each other.

However again, if the lifespan being higher isn't correct, how is it possible that Arjun married at such an old age and they fought at such a age. That's the confusion

Yeah

What we believe is that Rajsuya Yagya is a subsequent event followed by Forest Burning, we need to note that Abhimanyu and Upapandavas were born before it and forest burning was followed by building of Maya Mahal, It takes time, doesn't it?

Then, they were in Maya Mahal when Narad (I think) suggested them to go for Rajyasuya Yagya
