I meant these children weren't mentioned as some great warrior or one who defeated everyone else on the day of their death. Vrihsena has been highlighted because he was great not just to give him an OTT death.
Duryodhan's son Lakshman has been mentioned only for being killed pretty easily by Abhimanyu. Dusshashan's son was better than Lakshman I think
By the according to Jaimini Mahabharata parts we have, Karna had another son Vrishketu who survived the war. I used to think he is the part of a folklore but got to know recently that Vrishketu is mentioned in one of authentic versions
Dushashan's son wasn't superior to Lakshman: they fought Abhimanyu at different stages.
Lakshman took on Abhimanyu when the latter was in peak form, playing havoc w/ the army. He got killed, and his father got furious, and Drona put together the plan to disarm Abhimanyu.
Karna managed to break his bow (contrary to the ACK, he did not break it from behind). Others kept firing arrows at his chariot and broke it, and his charioteer was killed as well. Then Drona and Karna broke his sword and shield.
It was then that Abhimanyu picked up the wheel of his chariot to defend himself, but everybody's arrows kept hitting it, and broke it to pieces.
It was at this point that Abhimanyu picked up a mace, and Dushashan's son came in. They fought, and both fell unconscious. Dushashan's son got up first, and then killed Abhimanyu b4 he could.
This last part belies 2 myths perpetuated about Abhimanyu's killing. First is that he was killed by joint attack of warriors. He wasn't (unlike Shalya much later): he was disarmed that way, which is about as illegitimate. The other is that he was killed by Karna. Again, no. He was killed by Dushashan's son, maybe by questionable means, but still in a mano a mano fight
However, it's obvious that Abhimanyu was in totally different frames of mind when he fought Lakshman vs when he fought Dushashan-putra
