Hollywood movies will earn more than Bollywood movies and eventually take over . With more stars moving onto OTT and era of superstars ending, public wont waste money on movie tickets unless its another Baahubali.

Luckily we have South Indian industry where star culture is still thriving and then there are multiple ambitious directors who have a pan-India vision.

When we grew up in the 90s we knew who Salman,Shahrukh or Aamir are . Kids today know a Chris Hemsworth or Evans more than any actor in BW . Shows where BW is heading

People have been predicting the doom of theatre for years now. Thing is even today it is simply more profitable to first have a theatrical release, then TV, then DVD and then streaming to be able to exploit all channels. The only reason streaming is burning such insane amounts right now is because they are fighting for market share. No way would Netflix or Disney+ dole out the same amounts in a few years when the focus shifts on profits. Smaller budget cinema though, the indie kind will disappear from theatres though.

As for Hollywood, again outside adaptations of two popular cartoons Jungle Book and Lion King and everything with Marvel slapped on it, what Hollywood cinema really makes money in India.

Chris Hemsworth or Evans have no pull to speak outside of Marvel though globally, let alone in India.

Budgets are going to shrink further.Uncertainty till 2022.

Industry will try to release backlog films and complete delayed shoots in 2021.

The era of the Khans is over ..They ruled a good mind boggling quarter century. One of the golden periods of BW..

There was the Dilip,Dev ,Raj,Guru era

Then Rajendra kumar,Shammi Kapoor and others

Then Rajesh Khanna,Dharmendra,Manoj Kumar..

Then came Big B,Vinod Khanna,Shashi Kapoor..

Then Anil Kapoor era ,which was brief..with the releases of QSQT,MPK,Baazigar.

HR was the next to burst into the scene.

RK,and RS had quieter debuts..with a lot of help from the industry and some hit films. They need to prove themselves without the trappings they enjoyed earlier.Lets see..

HR is the last superstar.

Leave Hollywood I have a feeling south industries will take over Bollywood too. I also feel its not the superstar era is over, its just that Bollywood just doesn't have those kind of actors anymore that can claim the superstar tag.

Isnt Extraction a hit on Netflix ? They might have no pull but the future generation certainly knows them more than most BW actors today . One of the reasons why Khans survived was cos of nostalgia and we had grown up seeing them . Lets see how many actors today even survive next 10 years let alone remembering them

No doubt on that . Tiger has potential but he cant act ,Varun has lost his touch and Ayushman does the same type of movies . The likes of Vicky,Rajkumar etc will alway be indie actors no matter how their PR tries to push them

How I see it is you already paid for the service so there is very little resistance to watching a film with a celebrity attached to it. It's like watching a film with Siddharth Malhotra on Netflix, you won't watch it in theatres though. For a Tiger Shroff, he could still pull people to theatres, so it doesn't make sense for him to move.

I see your point with stars and longevity, but I guess in that sense we will move closer to a Hollywood model. There are stars who make money for a few years for everything attached to their name like Jennifer Lawrence, Chris Pratt, Scarlett Johansson and once that is over, branch out to smaller films and streaming hits.
