Qualities a top actress should have?

To me, look fabulous, dance like a pro, have a comic timing, be great at emotional drama, have a sexy vibe and be the good girl that everybody wants to date or marry or at the least look at them at the screen doing all this convincingly. And most importantly, acting chops.

Sridevi was the perfect embodiment of what a top actress should be. I feel she was the most versatile, could look angelic, sexy, and hot at different times, dance well, and could act the pants off most of her contemporaries. Such a combination is hard to achieve.

Do you people think anyone fits all these criteria in the current generation? What is your definition of a "top actress"?

All rounder skills - dancing, comedy, emotion, drama, beauty and good acting skills

Look at all super stars of last 70 years they had all that criterai hero or heroine

Dilip kumar - good at comedy, excelled in tragedy roles and serious roles, not great at dancing

Rajesh khanna - good at tragic roles, comedy, serious, romance and ok dancing

Amitabh Bach chan -- good at tragic, action and comedy roles ok dancing

SRK - good at romance, negative and ok dancing

Ranveer singh - good at comedy, good at negative and serious roles, great dancer (only super star whose great dancer)

Heroine

Nagris - good at romance, tragedy and ok dancer

Madhubala - very good at comedy, romance and tragedy great dancer

Sharmila Tagore - good at romance, tragedy and serious ok dancer

Hema malini - good at romance, tragedy and comedy, great dancer

Sridevi - good at comedy, tragedy, romance etc great dancer

Madhuri Dixit: good at comedy, tragedy, romance, great dancer

Deepika Padukone - good at girl next door, bubbly, classic royal roles, good dancer

So its all rounders that become super stars actually

Some skills they can be average thats ok but they excel in almost every genre

they should be able to act, thats the first and most important thing.If they are not amazing actors, they need to atleast have a connect or something intangible, an X factor that makes me want to watch them.

Ideally, if I were to say who matches textbook criteria for a conventional top bollywood actress today, its probably deepika. as she can be girl next door and cute, while still being conventionally hot look wise. She has managed to make an impact with her characters on screen

Other than her..Priyanka has the balance of being sultry and sexy while still being a fabulous actress. kangana and vidya are just captivating on screen and are just very good actors who I can watch in any film.

Parineeti I find the best in her gen with comic timing and I like her cute avatar she brings on screen

Personally, as you can see I like to watch a variety of actresses, not just one who is doing all the roles. I think the concept and image of a #1 actress or top actress is changing with time

Unfortunately, a combination of all 3 is pretty much rare in BW these days..
