A lot of popular actors had refused to take up the role. Uss time ke actors didn't wanna risk replacing successful characters. Apart from Ronit (who replaced Mihir, no one was able to pull off replacements). Also, I think Ekta did not want the baggage of an already popular actor replacing Sujal. She wanted someone new.

There were actually protests outside Balaji office when Rajeev was replaced, I don't even know why because Rajeev quit himself. As much as I hated Ekta, agar koi chod ke gaya show toh woh kya karegi. She didn't want him to leave.

At that point no matter who replaced him, people would have hated him.

Btw, Hiten was her favorite replacement actor. Usko harr jaga fit kar deti thi. Then bechare ko she just dumped awai. Acha khasa leads kar raha tha, usko ensemble actor bana diya, Kyunki and Kasauti deke.

honestly tho, i can’t think of any daily format ITV show that was good. Still KTH with this double cheddar cheese , has more repeat value than any of these shows.

Ekta loves to build up the love for her characters and then watch us cringe as she kills them in slow inches.

varun eventually got insecure and basically a basket case... so much so that Rishi was better in comparison. But can’t lie, Rishi eventually changed for the better, and it was one of the sweeter arcs in the story.

I think after Baa it was Rishab Bajaj who lived the longest in the Balaji shows(and this man had survived gun shots, accidents, plane crashes unlike Baa who mostly had to bear just family dramas)

@blue: there were actual protests. IF gawaah hai😆. And people hated Ekta so much as he had left coz she wanted to introduce a disgusting track (Sujal raping Charu and then marrying her). He was of the opinion that Sujal as a character could never do that and thus walked out(atleast that's what was claimed). She already had issues with him so would shade him at every opportunity she got for some time .

Kuch bhi karne kaa par Ekta maata ka ego nhi hurt krne ka😆

Hiten ko toh they exploited. He was so good in romantic roles as Pratham and Karan but usko har show mein as a replacement use kr leti thi. Even Eijaz was juggled around a lot, par atleast he got 2 entire shows of his own as lead(Nimmo and Kavyanjali). Hiten ko toh lead se directly pati/papa/dadaji ka replacement bana dia har show mein.

On the topic of BAA, I remember watching one epi where they celebrated her 100th birthday... and I was like please, she has to be atleast 200. Like cmon, she survived so many events in that show.😂😂

and in KZK1, the obituaries of Prerna and Anurag read they were born in the 1940s or summat like that 😂😂😂, and so Bajaj must have been born in the 20s? Like before or around Indian independence. I was like.., why wouldn’t you just move the dates into the future.

Oh, I wrote something else (thats what happens when you are multitasking work and IF)😆. I meant it seems far fetched but a lot of populat actors actually did not want to replace Rajeev. Many refused.

Protest toh hue they outside Star and Balaji office. I remember that.

After KWK episode where she took jibes at him a lot of people sent hate mails to Star World🤣

Ekta ko toh I hated will all my might.😆 I still do, a bit. I started hating her less when they buried their hatchet.

I've just come across an old Q & A. Gurpreet claims he auditioned for the Angad role but got the Sujal role. What the heck, this guy was even considered for the Angad role. 😲😆
