That's what I loved about the character, and how they showed her just before and after the leap. She comforted Mishti even though she wasn't sure what the status of her marriage was, comforted Kunal even though she was mad at him for spiking her brother's drink and she still wasn't sure whether her marriage was off or on, didn't make things worse by confronting Abir until that market scene (which was awesome!) - and this from a person who had said she wasn't strong like Abir and Mishti during KC.
She shows it's possible to love someone and still dislike them like her relationship with Mishti, love someone and forgive everything like she does with Kunal, and love someone and accept them as they are (with Abir and others also I guess). I really wish they don't go full-on vamp with her character!

We had this discussion in different phases on the AT after the Kuhu burning the photo promo came out.
In my opinion, the promo created the mess but now that I look back on it, it was probably because the writers weren't sure with what they were showing at that point in time. Making Nishant evil was very sudden and so was his exit. From my few months of time on IF, I have come to understand that SP tries to meddle with storylines and I guess that is what was happening at that time.
But but but. From what we've been shown till now, the progression seems quite human. Her complete efforts during the NishMish wedding were directed towards Nishant not being heartbroken but that wasn't the result. The way he left made Kuhu say that she hated Mishti but that was for how hurt her brother was.
After that, it all came back to how things were when she got married the 1st time. Her life was falling apart once again and Mishti was going to get her happy ending. The only thing that changed was that instead of her heart being shattered, it was her brother's but since she had promised Nishant that she would organise MA's wedding, she went through with it. Then the divorce paper thing came in front and the one thing she never wanted happened: Varsha got to know about it. And that was all because of Mishti so bhai se kiya hua waada gaya bhaad me and she became super angry and explosive.
In all of this also, I was hoping that she doesn't become the villian from the promo but that small look of gratefulness from Kuhu's side when she gets to go to the mandap first and the way she set the bangles for mishti made me gain my faith back in the writers.
I was so glad that we've gotten to see a gradual transition to her character and all the others as well rather than what happened with Nishant.
