Hence, it has been INTERPRETED that it means, one might not invade in their privacy. Considering there was no one year rule,

1. Other four brothers cannot see Draupadi in private with one husband.

2. In private implies anything that may feel private to the husband or Drau. I am sure if they saw them talking to each other that's a punishment.

However, the words of Narad make much more sense if there's a one year rule. This implies that

1. One year goes to each husband, and at this time if someone else makes a move at her, he is liable to be exiled.

2. Makes a move meaning sexual move.

It could be that Yudhishthir and Draupadi were in their private moments and Arjun entered (not to take weapon- that could be a later addition to whitewash him) so he was exiled.

Simple

there were a lot of cows taken away by takshak for which arjun had to go and fight right? In that time would Arjun think of approaching Draupadi sexually?😕

i dont think so.

This is why i moreso feel yudhishthir knew it.

Citation:

But it so happened that the chamber where the illustrious Pandavas had their weapons was then occupied by Yudhishthira the just with Krishna.

What I think this means is, there exists a room, where the weapons were kept at that point. (Not a designated weapon room). For eg, I have my study text books in a spare room in my house. Now the door is closed and at that point, Yudhishthir and Draupadi probably had entered the room for some reason, and what is to be noted is they were ALONE. Dasis saw them going in but i am sure they do not know what they were doing inside.

Now Arjun arrives (he already knew they were inside so we can assume he saw them go in), dasis say both are alone inside - he doesn't care and enters. He sees them in between something he should not have seen. Gets exiled.

Also i don't think arjun cared as u said because he felt drau was his wife first.

I agree with u abt polyandry.

this theory makes more sense

but then he could have sent someone else in or knocked on door so that the people inside are disturbed and he dosent get to see what he should not. looks like he wanted to get exiled🤔

Arjun also shared an equally beautiful relationship with Krishna. Panchali was not the only one.

yes both Arjun Panchali had a beautiful relationship with krishna. And i think that is where arjun- draupadi also shared a special bond other than him winning her svayamvar.

But i think Krishna loved/was attached to Arjun the most in the whole epic. There are enough instances of krishna speaking about arjun in the epic that prove that.

He has even asked for his friendship with Arjun to always remain as a boon. He was ready to break his oath and kill for him. even if you exclude the divinity part of the nar narayan relationship they clearly had a soulmate type relationship.

That's what the accepted version says. This was based on the assumption that the "weapon" is not his bow but you know what. Like a metaphor.

Anyway, i have then explained in another post about my own interpretation.

That is why I said, i think he didn't care and he felt he had right on her and a feeling of unfairness.

I beg to disagree. There are enough of Krishna's actions (not words) to prove Panchali was equally important.

There ae 2 open disagreements between Arjuna and Panchali in front of Krishna. Each time, Krishna throws his weight behind her. In Kamyaka vana when Arjuna calms Krishna down, Panchali riles him just as quickly back up. In Udyoga Parva, the same thing happens, and Arjuna actually calls Krishna out on it.

During Karna vadh, Krishna mentions 4 reasons behind needing Karna dead. 2 of them had to do with assault on Panchali. In CE, there is no mention of even poor Abhimanyu who was killed only THREE DAYS BEFORE.

As for Krishna's words, well... if he used the same words he used for Arjuna, even these days, there would be eyebrows raised.😆

None of this is to say Arjuna was less important. They were extremely dear friends as is clear.

But judge both words and actions, and you find the same (I hate to use the cheesy word 😆) soulmate relationship between all 3.

Is there an event other than the dyut sabha where one can refute the theory of polyandry?
