I understand this completely. We know that real life is different but yet still tend to believe that there is a fairy tale waiting for us. Honestly, it's a bit terrifying because we know that we have unrealistic expectations and the fear of being disappointed kind of holds us back. Sometimes, I feel like I always have my head in the clouds and that when reality will finally hit me, I'm going to fall hard.

Okay, buddy...Why you're becoming so pessimistic today?....guess...not our bad influence... We're old enough to understand what is fantasy and what is not, correct? When we choose to believe the fantasy knowing it all why to worry about falling hard or real-life is hard and all...fairy tale has the magic and I think it's not wrong to believe in those...yes even knowing it's a fairy tale...so cheer up....

@bold I too have this constant fear. I keep on thinking that everything might just vanish when I see reality and then I will have nothing to do

Lol I'm not being pessimistic 😆 In fact, I'm in a really good mood today...you can tell by my Tangled essay 🤣 This is something I've thought about for years and just wanted to share. By fantasy, I mean more like a perfect romance of boy meets girl and they fall in love...but obviously things aren't that easy and there are problems. Sometimes, it's wrong person altogether. Knowing that I have unrealistic expectations and that I could be hurt in the future if I open up to someone would kind of inhibit me from committing to someone in the future. Basically, I think I'm a hopeless romantic who is commitment-phobic which sounds very contradicting 😆 Trust me, I'm fine. Usually, I only talk about this stuff with my best friend but I find it easy to open up here.

@bold well it was pretty long and kudos to you for such a long description😆
@italics Miyaan we are so similar. I usually talk about this with my bestie but I feel like opening up here😳

Well, my fear is more that would this heartbreak change me as a person? I've never been in a romantic relationship. But, I become really invested into friendships. I've had one particular friendship where my friend didn't nearly care about me as much as I did. I used to consider her my sister. She said hurtful words, never seemed to care, and was very manipulative. I think this changed me as in I am less trusting of people with my feelings and emotions (I'm pretty open here but this doesn't count since you don't know me in real life). Maybe, I'm afraid of history repeating again. But, as I said earlier in this thread, some people come in your life to teach you a lesson and then leave when they fulfill that purpose.
