why you're putting some flame and smoke on her face? Who is that dude next to her?
It's a pooja thalli.
We welcome people in that manner on special occasions. The smoke is exaggerated here. It's usually a small diya and agarbatti. Agarbatti is a wooden stick with fresh smell. Diya is a small lamp.
And the man besides here is her bro Hrithik Roshanđ
I'll save you by posting one about it đ

I am good Alina, wbu?
It's good that you're back
Although my first language is English, I was exposed to Hindi by my parents similar to you. I also took Spanish from 6th grade but I agree to have forgotten a vast majority of words. It has been in my mind to take some courses in Spanish and possibly Cantonese for some time but never got the actual time. I think cultural arts/music also play an aspect of learning the Indian culture like being exposed to Kathak (or other Indian dances), Bollywood/Bhangra, Latin Dances, and piano at an early age because I wanted to learn the best of both worlds.
I think a lot of people would think we are "white-washed" but we aren't. In fact, all of my American friends love Indian Culture! I've seen YT videos where people would ask Indian residents (I know its small representation because Indians love all their guests and served them with love) stereotyping a lot of stuff shown on TV like there is more than the stereotypical rep of an American; it's a melting pot! Just because we have American mannerisms/thinkings doesn't mean that we don't respect the Indian culture.
@Bold this word has a personal story đ So I live in a town which of the population of ASIANS is 1.4% so you can assume you diverse my town is lol. I never had any indian friends growing up. It didn't bother me too much but yeah it would be nice to have someone who could relate to my "indian-ness" but in college I met a group of Indian-American Kids like me. They seemed fine at first but were very judgmental. I never felt like I fit in. Then one time, someone used the word "white-washed" for me which was super offensive. But, it's like I don't need to prove to anyone how Indian or how American I am.
My current friend group is actually all second-generation kids coming from different cultures. It's really amazing because we share each other's cultures and often end up finding similarities. But, my best friend was accidentally born white đ she loves learning about other cultures but she doesn't "exoticize" or appropriate it which I appreciate. It's so much fun learning from each other and sharing your culture.
Nothing much. I had maggi for lunch đ
