I loved all his movies and I watched Angrezi Medium just last week! It’s very hard to accept that he is no more and his mom passed away just few days back! Very unfortunate

2020 is really needs to end soon

One of the few actors my family would spend theatre tickets on. My husband watched Hindi medium twice at the flicks- one with an Emirati colleague and then with me 😆 . Irrfaan was much loved by the local community here and many natives here have grown on Bollywood cinema. Yes, 2020 needs to end. Sigh.

Edit: Haven’t watched Angrezi medium.

If u really stand by your words then hv the courage to refuse the national award as well when entire nation knew priyadarshan just gifted him that award ..

Jyoti, I meant the comparison of how everyone wants to be called an actor, irrespective of their inner self which is happy to be known as a star! Somewhere or the other, every artist craves to be known as an actor even if he is a star or even for a hypocrite like Akshay maybe, it’s a pride and it gives you a satisfaction! In every profession you want to be known for your talent atleast once even if you have reached the top post for whatever reasons and unlike Manoj Bajpayee, Irfan was more popular and loved atleast and he didn’t go unrecognised or wasn’t cheated! That’s what my point is as not all actors get their dues, but irfan did get his due as an actor

Ashima i never said irfan never got his due ..of course he did ..and noone here denies that he is a grt actor

But the problem is not everyone will hv same pov ..why we need to correct someone based on what they feel is right when that person is also a irfan fan with a slight different pov ..

I agree, I think the quote was taken in a different way, it was more like irfan wasn’t praised when he was alive but he is all over twitter post his death!

Jyoti, Catcher’s statement was misunderstood here by not one but many. And when he explained to me and also quoting you, we understood that he meant public perception while all others meant Irrfan’s own content and self satisfaction coz Irrfan was always a different human being and media nonsense was never his thing. We were arguing apples and oranges.

But if anybody is saying that Irrfan never knew he was loved, I will always disagree. Because that would be a false statement. But nobody is saying that and so, all’s good.

That is exactly how it sounded 🙄 which is why all of us misunderstood that statement. Catcher ko peetne ka mann kar raha hai lekin today is too painful a day for virtual fun too.
