In the texts, no detail of this game has been mentioned (as far as I know), only that it involved a paasa or a pair of dice.

BRC showed it as a kind of a predecessor of Ludo. Do we have any information as to what were the technicalities of this game? (Folklores and other stories are also welcome)

I would love more information on this! 😃

It was basically a more elaborate version of Ludo. There are two dices as far as I know. I have heard of this game being played from my grandfather too. XD

So you had more like 6-6 aka 12 was the highest score for you. And I think it wasn't with 4 players (as in guti) but one or two.

Was Chausar and this Dyuta exactly same, or were there some differences?

Dyut actually means gamble so any game which involves money at stake would come under Dyut.

Coming to what game they played well even I don't have much idea but going by the fact that it needed dice, I am assuming it was Chaupar.

Chaupar is a board game using dice which is mentioned on various Puranas. It is also mentioned that Shivji n Parvatiji often played this game and they played it with stakes too. It actually is a predicessor of Ludo(which also developed in India)

The game involves two different parties(or 4 players just like Ludo) having their tokens on the board. Check the below link for the details

I had doubt over this point. Were the dice of those days like it's shown in the shows? Like a cuboid (and not a cube like in present days) if that's how it was then the probability of getting the face with smaller sides was next to impossible. So how come the dice had numbers upto six?

I don't think they were cuboids though. But if we consider they were, then there could be only 4 sides technically, no?

It must have been a variant of ludo. 😆

Yudhisthira kept staking and Shakuni kept declaring Lo I won.
