For Sita again no one is there that suits the role

Vidya Balan or Tabu would have suited in younger days

I have to know the story before I cast it

Ram is a prince married to Sita. He has two step moms and three step brothers. Being the eldest, he should have become the king. But his step mom manipulated and made him go for 14 year exile in forest before his coronation. His wife and one of the step brothers who always look up to him (Lakshman) joins him in exile.

When Ram is in forest, a woman (Shurpanakha) happens to see him and falls in love with him. When Ram refuses her advance, she feels it is because of Sita’s presence in Ram’s life. She tries to attack Sita. Brothers will defend Sita and cut the woman’s nose.

Shurpanakha happens to be king Ravana’s sister. She cries victim hood. Ravana decides to take revenge and he abducts Sita.

Ram goes in search of Sita. A monkey kingdom lends him help. Specially Hanuman. He flies to see whereabouts of Sita. When Ram’s army (coalition with monkey warriors) battles with Ravana’s army, many are almost dead. Hanuman flies and gets the medicine for all and revives them.

Finally Rama kills Ravana. Comes back to kingdom. Ram’s step brother (Bharat) was nice, even though the step mother was baddie. He reserves the throne for Ram till he comes. Finally Ram becomes the king.

Uff. This is the abbreviated Ramayana story.

Thinking of it, Hritik can be Ram and Kangana can be Shurpnakha. Sita does not have much role apart from crying under Ravana’s arrest. Deepika can do the crying role. Salman Khan will be good as Ravan. Varun’s face suits Hanumaan. Will give Lakshman’s role to Tiger.
