Ehh no. She really doesn’t. How on earth are army people “rich”?! And she wasn’t well-to-do from any stretch of the imagination. She was just middle-class. So she fits the bill for this thread.

Whether or not army people are rich depends on what rank they are at, just like with pretty much every other job! Anushka’s dad was a colonel so yeah I guess you are right, they would have been very much upper middle class but not really rich by BW standards

Most of these are upper middle class actresses.

You're middle class if your household income range per month is roughly less than 50,000.

Yes! Most of the recent actresses without filmy connections ARE upper middle class (Anushka, PC, Kangana), if not super wealthy like Deepika and Tara!

It takes 3-4 laks per month to maintain a starlet lifestyle in mumbai if not more... Nobody can really come from ' middle' class in Bollywood unless they get sugar daddy sponsor

But Deepika, anushka and kangana came in 2006-7 so they did not need 5 lakhs per month that time

And Deepika was a model and earning since age of 17-18 years of age long before she became a bollywood actress

Anushka also model from bangalore like deepika only and earned before coming to mumbai like deepika only

PC was a miss world so she had her own money from 18-19 years

Only one who had no money was kangana when she started

All others earned enough money through modelling to support themselves rather than ask parents money for maintaining life style in mumbai

And in 2005 you never needed 5 lakh to maintain yourself may be 50K would do per month

But all came groomed as they were models before, so their dressing and make up, walk etc was perfect from first movie only unlike star kids

Agree with everything you said, but Kangana had no money because she went against her family, not because her family had no money to begin with (as she likes to make out now!)

Army officers have lots of other source of income. Plus they get everything free, so they don’t have to spend lot from salary.

Any one from army officer BG is rich , definitely not middle class

I don’t think so tbh, unless the rank is very high...my uncle was an army officer and his family were middle-middle class more than anything...definitely not rich!

However for very high ranking officers (or ones who care from a wealthier background to begin with) it would be a different story!
