The Song in Your Heart
One day when Tara was practicing her swordsmanship, Mrityunjay challenged her to a duel. While dueling, he tricked her and captured her by pinning her against the wall. He grabbed her hands in his one hand and pinned them above her head. He kissed her passionately. Tara was still in the ecstasy of his kiss on her lips when he started kissing on her jaw leaving her breathless. He planted wet kisses from her jaw moving towards her neck. Tara was trying to release herself from his clutch and touch him but he was restricting her. It was very agonizing for her to be unable to touch and feel him. His other hand moved on the length of her body making it alive. She bit her lip and moaned.
Mrityunjay stopped and looked at her flushed face and smirked. He was enjoying this torture. Tara now decided enough of his torture and kicked him on his shin making him lose his hold on her. She without wasting any time pushed him away and he fell to the ground.
When he stood up and approached Tara to continue his torture, she moved away and pinned him on the wall with her magic. She conjured up a stump and leveled herself with him. She leaned on his face and skimmed her nose from his eyes to his lips, kissing at the corner of his lips. His eyes rolled back in his head. This was pure ecstasy.
When he tried to make the kiss deep, she backed away. She unbuttoned his shirt and roamed her hands slowly on his sculpted chest torturing him more. He wanted to hold her near him but she had pinned his hands on either side. She licked and kissed his nipples making him moan. Then she moved away from him and smirked.
“Tara... don’t do this,” he said breathing heavily. He wanted her to finish what she started.
“You were doing the same thing to me,” she said backing away from him. He groaned. She walked to the doors and snapped her fingers releasing Mrityunjay from the wall.
“Tara,” he groaned and ran towards her but before he could reach her she swirled her hand and he just grabbed the purple smoke. “This is too much. You can’t escape me after the wedding,” he said imagining all the things he would do to her.

A week before the wedding, Tara and her family stayed at the Palace. Tara was pinned and poked from time to time for her wedding and reception gown. People from the neighboring kingdoms arrived to attend the wedding.
After that incident in Enchantress’ Den, Prince Mrityunjay didn’t try to get intimate with her even when they were alone which surprised her. He had kissed her on the cheek and forehead but never on the lips. When one day she asked him the reason, he had said he was a gentleman and would do no such thing before marriage. She tried to lure him out of his so-called chivalry but he was firm, so Tara abandoned her plans.
As the day of their wedding was approaching, Tara was growing anxious. She was not a princess. She didn’t know a thing about being a royal. When she and Mrityunjay were lying in the garden one night, she said, “I am afraid.”
Mrityunjay frowned and looked at her, “Of what?”
“Mrityunjay, I am no royal. I don’t know a thing about it. What if I fall while walking to the altar? It will be such an embarrassment,” she said, tucking herself in his chest.
“If you fall, I will pick you up or I will fall with you. Whichever you prefer. You don’t need to fear anything. I am also afraid of many things, Tara.” he said intertwining his fingers with hers.
She looked at him confused. She caressed his cheek and raised her brow in question. “Tara, there is too much expectation from me. The citizens are expecting me to fulfill my duty. I am afraid I might not perform this well. But I am sure as long as you are with me, we will make it through.” He brought their intertwined hands to his lips and kissed it. She smiled and relaxed in his arms. “You know, you will be a royal as soon as you get married to me,” he chuckled. She giggled with him.

On the wedding day, the whole Kingdom was decorated with lamps and flowers. The Palace was looking like a bride beautifully decorated with many types of flowers.
Prince Mrityunjay was standing at the altar, waiting for Tara. His agony was incomparable. Every night for the last week, Tara had sneaked into his room and spent some time with him and then had gone back to her room. Sometimes he was at his wit's end to resist her advances. Last night she didn’t come as she was guarded by Princess Meethi and Princess Vasu. Although in a few moments she would be his wife but still standing at the altar waiting for her was insufferable for him. He was looking again and again at the door from where Tara was supposed to enter but didn’t see her coming.
Prince Aditya leaned towards him and whispered, “Wait for a few more minutes.” Mrityunjay turned to face him and smiled shyly.
When Govind looked at his daughter who was ready to get married again, his eyes welled up with tears. His little daughter had grown into a beautiful woman too soon. In the past few months, he had tried to spend as much time as possible with her to compensate for the time lost. But nothing prepared him to give his daughter away.
Aradhana, who was standing next to Tara, came to her husband and kissing his cheek, took his hands in hers and squeezed gently, “Even when I spent much more time with her, I am not ready to give her in marriage.”
He squeezed her hand in understanding and then went to Tara. Tara’s eyes were sparkling with happiness but when she saw her father’s moist eyes, her face fell as suddenly she realized that now she would not live with her parents.
Her father hugged her and said, “We will always be with you, in your heart. Remember that.” She nodded and sniffed lightly. Soon they were walking towards the altar.
When Prince Mrityunjay heard the music change, he looked at the door and saw Tara entering dressed as his bride. She was wearing a pink and white gown with golden lace and a long white veil covering her face, which was secured in place by a diamond tiara with designs of ivy and flowers. He imagined how he was going to remove it from her and chuckled. Tara looked at him and smiled shyly. Prince Aditya was looking at Princess Meethi and smiled recalling their wedding which was just an alliance then but now it was filled with love.
Prince Mrityunjay was looking even more handsome in a dark purple tunic than he already was. The golden brooch on his chest was gleaming in the light of the fire burning in front of him which would bind them in holy matrimony. She walked excruciatingly slowly towards him with her father.
When Tara arrived next to him, her father put her hand in Mrityunjay’s. The priest started the ceremony. Mrityunjay squeezed her sweating palm in reassurance. Soon Mrityunjay was standing with Tara in front of the holy fire. First, he and Tara together took rounds around the fire reciting the vows. Then they exchanged the rings and soon the wedding was completed. The priest announced Prince Mrityunjay and Tara as man and wife.
Mrityunjay took a step towards Tara and lifted her veil over her head. Tara smiled shyly at him. He cupped her face in his hand and encircled another around her waist and pulled her to him, smacking his lips on her. Their families cheered. Tara was first hesitant but with the expert lips of Mrityunjay, she gave in and mated her lips with his. The priest cleared his throat to get the newlyweds’ attention. Mrityunjay reluctantly pulled away from her.
After the wedding was completed, a customary wedding ball was to be held and joined by the representatives of the neighboring kingdoms to congratulate the newlyweds.
