Ok so let me try to clarify my point.
1) Are the tableeqi people idiots that should be blamed? YES.
They have contributed to the spread, but i find this pattern these days that people need a scapegoat to place ALL the blame on. From a physicians perspective, I can GUARANTEE that the people dancing on the streets spread as much covid-19 cases as the tableeqi people. It's just, the tableequi people got highlighted coz one tested positive. I guarantee you that multiple people on the streets that day were asymptomatic carriers. This virus does not differentiate based on age, ethnicity, let alone religion.
2) The basic reproductive number, Ro of Covid-19 is thought to be 3-4. Meaning 1 person can infect up to 3 to 4 individuals. This thing has been in the community way before the travel ban, that much I can guarantee. So based on the fact that it was in the community, it doesn't matter when quarantine orders were placed; even if people were dancing on the streets, they were spreading the virus. Not their own fault, but lack of awareness. Hence, this rapid spread you're seeing is a CULMINATION of all these factors, NOT just some tableeqi idiots.
3) Muslims are cooperating worldwide, mecca has shut down for the first time in history. Pakistan has successfully shut a lot of mosques down for the time being. Here in the states, all Islamic centers are shut down, no muslims are standing or protesting. So if a few idiots are doing that, let me tell you religious extremists idiots exist in all religions, so there's no need to highlight it.
4) Anticipate cases to continue to rise. This is natural as more testing happens as based on infectivity, the situation will always get worse before it gets better. There will be a peak. In California, that's projected to be May 1st, yes even WITH all the quarantines in place. That's just how this works.
5) Lastly, the world is at war, at this time, with a virus as opposed to each other. Can we PLEASE just stop hating on each other for a few months until this thing comes to a stop?
1) agree mostly, minus the “one person positive” stuff. EDIT: you clarified your stance in a recent comment.
2) agree with you on it being spread. But how are they handling it? Are they quarantining themselves or are they roaming around spreading it even more? That’s equally important to look at, and we don’t have that information. I want the government to look into those individual cases and see what’s going on.
3) We aren’t looking at the world, and I’m not sure why you’re bringing Mecca or the States into this conversation. We are looking at Muslims in INDIA.
4) Yep. This is just the start. Especially with the second phases being reported in China, it’s going to be “interesting” to see how this plays out worldwide. But it’s definitely not being handled like previous flus. This is a lot more serious and I’m shocked at how many people are taking this lightly.
5) We can stop hating each other when we seriously stop hating each other, without exceptions. People had no issues labeling the self-curfew stupidity as a Hindu thing. They fussed when they believed Hindus would celebrate Navratri and Ram Navami in temples. But when the tables have turned and everyone’s favorite religious community has been caught acting stupid, we’re playing this whole “ahahahaha. Guyssss let’s not bring religion into this!!”
I’m not saying you’re doing that particularly, it’s essentially what always happen.
We easily pin the blame on any non-Islamic religion, and shift the blame when Muslims are the cause.
All that aside, I think you mentioned you’re a Physician or you’re in the ER. Just wanted to thank you for your service during these times. 👏
