Saturday Update: Angrezi Medium - Baaghi 3

The boxoffice is feeling the heat as Saturday saw cinemas shut in parts of Maharashtra, Delhi city, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jammu, Karnataka and Kerala and more shutdowns are likely to come. This meant the collections of Angrezi Medium dropped to 2.75 crore nett which is a 20-25% drop.

The two day numbers are 6.50 crore nett plus which is poor and there is likely to be another drop tomorrow as more states shut down. The best business of the film is coming from Gurgaon and Noida and even UP is looking decent because of the scenario even though the film has nothing for UP. The multiplexes in the bigger cities of UP are adding well to the film.

Baaghi 3 also dropped around 20% as it collected 1.75 crore nett to take its total to 91 crore nett plus in nine days but this film will suffer also on Sunday as more states shut cimes tomorrow. The film is good in UP and luckily that state will be open on Sunday where it is sure collect at least 60 lakhs but eventually that state will see a shutdown as well.

Sunday Update - Baaghi 3 Fights

Baaghi 3 is putting up a fight despite the scenario not giving it much chance to collect. The film showed growth on Sunday despite Punjab and Rajasthan not playing the film on Sunday when they were playing on Saturday. The collections of the film will be close to 2 crore nett on Sunday which is a low collection but it is putting up numbers where it is being allowed to.

The film is a HIT in Gujarat / Saurashtra and UP as both these areas recorded good collections on Sunday and over the second weekend as well as very good first week collections. The problem on Monday will be that Gujarat / Saurashtra belt will be shutting down which will mean a big hit for the film. The second weekend of the film is around 5.75- 6 crore nett though fair value would be around 12-13 crore nett.

Angrezi Medium will collect in the 2.50-2.75 crore nett range on Sunday which will mean a weekend of 9.25-9.50 crore nett and here fair value is hard to judge as it was hardly being screened in the metros on Saturday and where it was screened like Gurgaon and Noida the Saturday growth was not much maybe due to Corona fear. Its impossible to judge the real value growth on Saturday city numbers as the performance was not like a normal Saturday.
