Thought I would directly reply to you here. Meenakshi is first and foremost a narcissist. Her love is always self-serving. Even yesterday, I feel she was more annoyed because she felt Parul took her limelight than feeling insecure about Kunal. As the episode progressed, I understood she does feel some sadness about it but then it's always about her, in the end. All of Meenakshi's other avatars like mother, Parul's friend etc are subordinate to Meenakshi the narcissist matriarch. She has routinely shown that she is a poor judge of character. Her obstinate ways have often landed the family she claims to care about in trouble. I don't see any redemption for her because she is the only character so far to never show any remorse or introspect on her actions.
Kunal- His main problem is his lack of EQ. One has to understand which approach works with which person. When he disregards Kuhu's feelings, he makes her more resentful. Kuhu has always felt that she is not heard when it comes to Mishti. As her husband, he should at least hear her out and then decide if she is being rational or not. It's usually 'my way or the highway' with him. When he hated Mishti, he wanted Kuhu to hate her too. Now that he likes Mishti, he wants Kuhu to like her too. People are not so mechanical. He needs to understand that. I remember a post talking about how he loves Kuhu Rajvansh and not Kuhu Maheshwari. I completely agree. I had said this before that he seems to love Kuhu the Rajvansh bahu, the fact that everyone in his family loves her, that she is accepted by them. Will he be able to love the not so savoury parts of her? We'll have to see.
Kuhu- Well, her character is gonna swing from one extreme to the other as and when the writers wish. Post-leap there was this maturity that had set in but now, she is out of control. Do I mind it? Not entirely because a lot of male characters go from being criminal to Raja Harishchandra, so I don't mind a grey female character. I think we're harsher on female characters than on male characters. Whatever she has done so far is wrong but I want to see how she makes up for it.
Abir- I really like him. I like that he is a good person with control over his temper. His only shortcoming right now are some of his solutions which are downright whimsical. Even in the past, he made a huge mistake by not informing Kuhu and her family about Kunal running away from their wedding. It would have saved Kuhu a world of pain. He tries to do what he thinks will make everyone happy but of course, his judgement gets compromised at times. While I really liked that Parul Maasi got her 'haq', I feel he has been pushing Kunal to accept her as his maa and that shouldn't be rushed, IMO. Also, Meenu is now like a ghayal sherni, ready to pounce.
I also feel that the Maheshwaris need to address Kuhu's insecurities instead of scolding her. Clearly, the scolding is not helping. They need to sit down with her and understand why she feels the way she does. Same with Jasmeet. Sure, she is spewing venom these days but there was a trigger to this: the way Nannu and Mishti's rishta ended. I remember she had changed her perspective towards Mishti till a few months back and then the Nannu incident happened. No mother would want their child to marry someone who is in love with their ex. This is not to justify her actions but rather to ask why the Maheshwaris don't address this. Shutting her down is a temporary fix, not a permanent one.
