Hey

after watching Jodhaa akbar which i loved 😳it was tooo good really did not expect it especially the chemistry between Hitrik and Ashwariya ....it was like a love story but without like proper romance if you get what i mean...when he goes to fetch her is my favourite scene in the movie and of course the sword fight.

I was doing some research for myself and wanted to know how true the film was...now i always being sikh it was part of our history belived that mughals tried to get people to convert to islam also i came across something that said akbar had three wives before so does this mean that film was inaccuare hence why there were problems in rajasthan😕...just wanted to know how accurate the film was? (no bashing of religions please i am just talking from history point of view how accurate it was not whether they were right etc)

The film was very innacurate.......Coz akbhar did have 3 wives.......And he had lots of harems as well!

And i heard that Akbar has been shown as too good....which he was not.....yes he did abolish that tax which was to be paid for pilgrimage by indians n all......But still he had his flaws! Here they have shown him as an exceedingly superb human being..

And also Bairam Khan, the man whom he sents for pilgrimage to mecca in the start of the film.....He was not a bad person at all.....Infact he selflessly worked to get Akhbar's territory back to him......Misundertandings had been created by other jealous ppl around akbhar so that the man is sent off....

And on his way to Mecca that man was killed ,by the time Akbhar could realize his folly n call him back ! They have shown Bairam Khan negatively in the film😕

This has been told to me by my friend......I dunno how accurate this is, but still i shared it with u !😳

ektas angel its good you want to know something about your history. the film is not factual. it would be really good if you read the below to get a better understanding of akhbar and his relationship with the sikhs.

Akbar was a famous king of India. He was a kind and good king and respected the Sikh Gurus for their sensible practises and their fair and just teachings. In the year 1569, Akbar came to the Punjab and wanted to see the Guru.

So he sent a message to Guru Amar Das ji that he was coming to visit him. The Sikhs were very happy at the news. Some Sikhs thought that special arrangements should be made to welcome the king. But the Guru said, "Akbar is as much a human being as others are. The Guru's place is open to all. The king and his subjects, the Hindus and the Muslims, the rich and the poor are all equal here. So Akbar will be welcomed like all other visitors to the Guru's place and special arrangements need not be made."

"Caste has no power in the next world; Only the humble are exalted there. It is only the good who are honoured for good acts." ( Guru Amar Das in GGS ji – 469 )

The king, along with the Rajah of Haripur, arrived in Goindwal where the Guru lived. The Guru and a few Sikhs received them warmly. They were shown round the place. Akbar was interested to know how the Guru's Langar was run. Simple food was served to all in the Guru's Langar. It remained open day and night.

Travellers, beggars, and strangers, as well as the followers of the Guru, were all served with food. Whatever was left was thrown to the cattle and birds so that nothing was wasted. The Guru had given an order that all persons coming to visit his place must have their food in the Langar (when hungry). There they were to sit in rows (Pangat) as equals and were to be served simple food in turn. Akbar and the Rajah of Haripur took their meals in the Guru's Langar. They sat among the common people in a row and the Sikhs served them food. They enjoyed the simple food and were very happy. Akbar liked the working of the Guru's Langar very much.

Before leaving, Akbar said to the Guru,

"I like Guru Nanak's religion very much and I respect you for your teachings. I want to make a grant of land for running the Langar. Would you mind it!".

The Guru replied,

"Dear Akbar, I am very glad you like the path of Baba Nanak. I am also grateful to you for your offer of a grant of land for the Langar, but I am sorry I cannot accept it because the Guru likes all to work hard to earn (Kirt Karni) and to share their honest earnings (Wand Chakna) with others, by giving something to the Langar from their honest earnings to help others.
As such, the Guru's langar is the people's (Sangat's) Langar and it must be run on people's free gifts and not on a royal grant. That is why all share equally in the Guru's Langar and no one is looked upon as an outsider. In the Guru's Langar, each gives as much as we can spare and takes as much as he/she needs. Here, there is no difference between kings and beggars. All sit together; and eat simple food served with loving care." Akbar liked the Guru's idea very much.

Though i liked the movie
Atleast the part of Jodha akhbar was fake . Akbhar had several wives and shared no such speacial chemistry with jodha unfortunatley . Like every human he had both good n bad sides unlike the movie which shows him to be saintly !

This is what I know:::

Akbar had three wives.. The first couldnt have children.. The second was the widow of Biaram Khan (person start of the movie).. the third was Jodha Bai (his true love).. She made many children with him he had a boy after many daugthers who went on to be the next king..
Akbar did have some flaws.. one was that he couldnt accept the relationship of his son with a courtsean Anakali.. He imprisoned her but told his son that he killed her.. So they never united..

Akbar had good relations with the Sikhs as he was tolerant of other religions.. However it was his great-grandson who killed the 9th guru (Guru Tegh Badurdar Ji)

Hope that helps,, but not sure how accurate this is.. 😛

Mughal-E-Aazam was more of Salim and Anarkali's story than Akbar's and Akbar in that movie was shown in his old age...Whereas JA shows his first few years, from 13-28 I believe....

Yes, Akbar in this movie was shown to be much better than he actually was but that's coz of Hrithik😆...ok ok...it's coz they focused mainly on his good side....He was better than the other Mughal rulers...so he was more like an Andhon mein Kana Raja...but fom what I remember of my History texts in school, he was tolerant towards other religions and had started a new religion called Din-E-Ilahi which basically was like mixture of all religions and everyone was free to practice whatever religion they wished in whatever form...
Don't quote me on all this coz I am no expert....

As for Jodhaa's story, Jodhaa Bai is listed in the history texts as one of his wives.... and I wouldn't say the story shown in the movie was all made up. It could have very well been possible....Love between the two could have been the guiding factor in Akbar's life and he could owe his tolerance to his wife and her love could have transformed him.... History seems much more interesting and lovely if you think it could have been true😉

Anarkali's story is not real. It was created in a play by famous urdu writer Syed Imtiaz Ali Taj .. from then on it has been a discussion if Anarkali's character is truth or myth.

Akbar did not have many daughters with Jodha. They couldn't bore a child for many years after their marriage. That is why the king himself walked to the darga of Shaikh Salim Chisti . Later when Jehangir was born Akbar named him after the famous sage, Nuruddin Salim Jahangir.

Plus Akbar was the first emperor to abolish the ritual of "sati" in hinduism.
