Okay! So, I saw the episode till the KuKu scene. Might see the rest of it later.
I actually liked the episode jitna bhi dekha maine. As I mentioned in another post yesterday: Kuhu keeps fighting off her insecurities to the best of her abilities till the time she can but most of the time, she fails. 'Most of the time' thoda zyada ho gaya. (https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/post/152872043). The time she had pushed Mishti off from the pyramid, she had nothing good in her life but now she has Kunal and a family that loves her, gives her importance she always craved and hopefully she'll realise it very soon that she doesn't need to compete for love and acceptance in this family; that both Mishti and Kuhu have their own place. I feel she'd get that as soon as she realises that BB is using and provoking her. Kunal ka role kya hoga, I still have no clear idea on that.
Coming to Kunal, as @Sam said, the writers are making it difficult for Kunal and I like it!
Kunal came in with a decision to go to Bhuj, tells Kuhu to pack the bags and that he has booked a hotel. Kuhu knows Kunal so well that she expected the family to tag along with them🤣 but Kunal ne baazi hi palat di. He's like, "I know how to be romantic. I can think of other things apart from my family. It's a day just for you and me.". Tell me something Kunal, karoge kya Bhuj jaa kar?? You don't even know your wife properly. Take her out on a date before you take her on trip.
Did anyone notice how Kunal became sour after Kuhu told him that she wants to spend the day with family. He got annoyed maybe because he put in a lot of effort to arrange the trip. I think the issue here is that he is trying to pick up on all the hints and the advice that he is being given. From his conversations throughout the day, he got the hint that he needs to take time out for Kuhu but it seemed like he was doing it to shut everyone up and not for Kuhu and himself. Dude said that "Mujhe aisa hi romance aata hai but you know you can teach me anytime". What does that even mean? She can't tell you notice how she is feeling. If anything Kunal should know by now, it is that Kuhu likes spending time with the family and there are some days you don't just take away.
I feel herein lies the major difference between Kunal and Kuhu from the family perspective. Kunal loves his family but he will do everything he is told to do by his family and he'll do it as soon as is possible, even if it means not being able to spend time with the people. He completely disregards his own needs and feelings where as Kuhu likes spending time with the family. She likes the attention, the events, the traditions. She likes to participate. It may be because her character is an extrovert and thus she recharges when she is around people.
I don't know how if the scene was as layered as I saw it to be but Ritvik does a fab job of conveying Kunal's emotions in the small time frame that he gets.
@Sam, I totally agree! No Maheshwari kid is leaving the family on the day of a festival. And you're right on with the parallel thing and the symbolism. How does Mishti always end up ruining things for herself??
@Meera: I totally get your HC now. After the episode, I can actually imagine Kuhu being interested, maybe not a Mandir but definitely Dandiya raas in Vrindavan or someplace like that.
