Okay! So, I saw the episode till the KuKu scene. Might see the rest of it later.

I actually liked the episode jitna bhi dekha maine. As I mentioned in another post yesterday: Kuhu keeps fighting off her insecurities to the best of her abilities till the time she can but most of the time, she fails. 'Most of the time' thoda zyada ho gaya. (https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/post/152872043). The time she had pushed Mishti off from the pyramid, she had nothing good in her life but now she has Kunal and a family that loves her, gives her importance she always craved and hopefully she'll realise it very soon that she doesn't need to compete for love and acceptance in this family; that both Mishti and Kuhu have their own place. I feel she'd get that as soon as she realises that BB is using and provoking her. Kunal ka role kya hoga, I still have no clear idea on that.

Coming to Kunal, as @Sam said, the writers are making it difficult for Kunal and I like it!

Kunal came in with a decision to go to Bhuj, tells Kuhu to pack the bags and that he has booked a hotel. Kuhu knows Kunal so well that she expected the family to tag along with them🤣 but Kunal ne baazi hi palat di. He's like, "I know how to be romantic. I can think of other things apart from my family. It's a day just for you and me.". Tell me something Kunal, karoge kya Bhuj jaa kar?? You don't even know your wife properly. Take her out on a date before you take her on trip.

Did anyone notice how Kunal became sour after Kuhu told him that she wants to spend the day with family. He got annoyed maybe because he put in a lot of effort to arrange the trip. I think the issue here is that he is trying to pick up on all the hints and the advice that he is being given. From his conversations throughout the day, he got the hint that he needs to take time out for Kuhu but it seemed like he was doing it to shut everyone up and not for Kuhu and himself. Dude said that "Mujhe aisa hi romance aata hai but you know you can teach me anytime". What does that even mean? She can't tell you notice how she is feeling. If anything Kunal should know by now, it is that Kuhu likes spending time with the family and there are some days you don't just take away.

I feel herein lies the major difference between Kunal and Kuhu from the family perspective. Kunal loves his family but he will do everything he is told to do by his family and he'll do it as soon as is possible, even if it means not being able to spend time with the people. He completely disregards his own needs and feelings where as Kuhu likes spending time with the family. She likes the attention, the events, the traditions. She likes to participate. It may be because her character is an extrovert and thus she recharges when she is around people.

I don't know how if the scene was as layered as I saw it to be but Ritvik does a fab job of conveying Kunal's emotions in the small time frame that he gets.

@Sam, I totally agree! No Maheshwari kid is leaving the family on the day of a festival. And you're right on with the parallel thing and the symbolism. How does Mishti always end up ruining things for herself??

@Meera: I totally get your HC now. After the episode, I can actually imagine Kuhu being interested, maybe not a Mandir but definitely Dandiya raas in Vrindavan or someplace like that.

What was it?! Why did Kuhu even take out the pills from the bottle 😡

Glad she didn't intentionally put them in but just coz Meenu and Jas brainwashed her she becomes jealous of Mishti and tries to spike her coffee?! 😡💔

And Kunal for the first time was trying to be romantic and she outright asked him to cancel the trip? What the hell were the dialogues of a puja being romantic? It's so embarrassing to hear that! 🤪

And Kunal? Where is he?! He's just a sidekick now to his Bhai bhabhi and wife? Where is his story? So disappointing.. reminds me of someone saying this serial will turn out to be like the one where the husband just stands on the side while his wife takes part in kitchen politics..

I'm sad and mad! Will see you guys tomorrow 😔

Can't stay and justify anything that happened today..

I always wonder what is intentional and what isn't intentional in ITV shows. I sometimes wish they would interview the writers once in a while, instead of the actors over and over again. I'd love to hear them talk about their creative process while they're writing these plotlines. I feel like that would bring a lot more clarity as well.

100%!! I would love to see that! Also, there are so many shows about daayans and what not. I feel it would make the writers realise how weird it sounds if they were to say it out loud in front of a camera.

Okay so here is a HC based around the KuKu scene today... because I was imagining the zillion other ways the writers coulda made this scene better and I finally just had to put my own version out there. I changed the trip destination because I just thought it would be more fitting:

Kuhu walked into her room and closed the door. She sighed in relief. Thank goodness she had found the cup that she had accidentally dropped the pills in and tossed it before anyone had taken it. She walked over to the mirror and took off her earrings. Kunal entered the room, speaking on the phone to someone about a hotel reservation. Kuhu looks up at him.

"Kuhu apni bags pack karlo. Kal time nahin hoga" Kunal said excitedly, placing his hands on Kuhu's shoulders.

"Arrey, kyun? Hum kahin jaa rahe hai kya?" Kuhu said confusedly.

"Haan. Kal mahashivratri puja ke baad, hum dono Dwarkadhish jayenge."

"Dwarkadhish? Kyun?"

"Tum hi ne to kaha tha, ki tumhein vahan jaakar darshan lena hai ek din. Kyunki tumhein Krishnaji bohot pasand hai? Aur Uske aur Radha ki hashtag 'epic love story'?" Kunal prompted.

Kuhu's face brightened. She couldn't believe Kunal remembered her saying that. "Par Kunal, kal Mahashivratri hai, aur ye Abir bhai ke liye special hai. Humein parivaar ke saath time spend karne chahiye. Hum ek aur din bhi to jaa sakte hai, hai na?"

Kunal smiled. He found the way she cared so much about their family so endearing. He tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear and cupped her cheek. "Kuhu, I don't know a thing about being romantic. But itna zaroor pata hai, ki agar hum baar baar parivaar ka excuse le liya, to hum kabhi bhi ek doosre ke liye time nikal nahin payenge. Maan jao na, please?" he asked her softly, in a sweet tone.

Kuhu couldn't say no to his pleading, intense eyes. She was so touched by his gesture. She wrapped her arms around him. "Kab jaana hai?"

Kunal smiled and pulled her into a tighter hug, inhaling her floral, sweet fragrance. Finally, he was at peace, in bliss, with his rainbow.

Glad I stopped to read this.. I'd love for this to happen. Thank you for the positivity girl..🤗

I too, felt that Kunal is trying to do all of these things just to shut Abir up. I love Abir, but he needs to back off at this point and let Kunal do what he needs to do. Otherwise, Kunal will keep feeling pressurized to do something for Kuhu that doesn't fit his personality at all. The Kunal we have all gotten to know would never compromise on a festival day that is so important to his brother. Kunal needs space to explore Kuhu as a person, and his relationship with her. He doesn't need constant pushing from Abir or anyone else (insert rant about joint families and how I could never live in one because I value privacy and personal space too much). Kuhu doesn't need grand romantic gestures on Kunal's part, but how would Kunal know? He's never actually sat down and talked to her about, well, her. And the fault is not just his. Kuhu is a very family-oriented person, but that doesn't make her a good communicator. What I find extremely weird is that Kuhu has completely fallen for Meenakshi's "meri pyaari bahu" drama even though she knows that she's behind why her marriage almost fell apart the first time, but she can't even bring herself to trust Kunal enough to share with him how she's really feeling. Her unwillingness to communicate and Kunal's complete inability to communicate is why the two will inevitably grow apart unless something changes in their equation.

Exactly! Abir needs to back off. But the problem in this situation is that he has been the one Kunal has always gone to for advice plus Abir is making the extra effort because he somewhere feels that he was the reason Kunal got married in the first place so he'll feel responsible if this marriage was to blow apart.

Kunal may have realised that Abir's methods don't work for him but he hasn't realised that Abir's advice on romance also doesn't work in his situation because they are two different people in completely different marriages.

Also, Kunal needs to realise that he doesn't really know anything about Kuhu because he never really spent time with her. Also, the fact that he needs to earn her trust. I need a HC for this. How do you people think thay should get to know each other?? How do Indian couples get to know each other apart from acute observation???

Meenu unintentionally dropped a hint today for Kuhu to pick up on. She said that she doesn't care if anyone else makes it for the pooja or not, clearly hinting that she doesn't want Mishti there. Hopefully, she will make more such mistakes and Kuhu will finally pick up on that. All this positivity is credit to Kaveri's caption yesterday.

I finished watching rest of the episode. And these are the highlights according to me (Pehle kuhu and then Kunal ke highlights):

1. Kuhu's smile has my heart after Jugnu tells her that Abir and Mishti went to the pandal early in the morning.

2. Kuhu's chhotu smile when Kunal apologizes to her for losing track of time.

3. Kuhu greeting Parul maasi normally with a smile on her face rather than behaving rudely with her like Jas wanted.

4. Kunal and Ketu's eternal competition. I want to see more of this duo!!!😛

5. Kunal, for the first time, stopping Parul from leaving to call people so she could also be a part of the group rather than giving everyone the space to interact.

6. The above point also make me wonder why he asked Kuhu to do it. Kunal usually offers to do stuff himself (like at the pandal) or he asks Jugnu/Parul or someone he thinks is not that important.

It's just there are no other words to accurately describe it. I can totally see her as the mother and matriarch of the family who claims to have held the family together and made the family business reach where it is now. What I find disturbing is the lack of remorse for any wrong she has committed (if you remember the mandir scene when everyone is looking for her, she deliberately hurts herself to an extent that is certainly not healthy.) and the fact that she has become so blinded by her ego to prove her initial analysis that she is ready to break that very family she claimed to have held together. There are definitely underlying mental health problems at play but since mental health is such a taboo topic in Indian society, we might never get to see that kind of a track.

Aqua, I would argue that none of us ever does much unless we are to gain from it. ❓

Bigben is desperate to stop her son/s from making the mistakes she did💔. It's a tv show, so the usual drama disclaimer ofcourse stands. No one does such stuff in real life. But, looking at it from the serial universe lens, she is going to limits she wishes nanu had gone to to stop her.

That is why she worries less about kunal. He isnt the rebel that she was. Abir is. That is why she wants him close to her. Mentor him from making the same mistakes as her

Her peers probably had a boring arranged marriage to an average guy. And now live a fairly challenge free life. She wants the same for her son/s

So while I would love for a well researched mental health track, there is more this family can do before she is put in front of a professional

Hey DQ!

@Bold - Thanks for bringing me back to the lens. Mai kaafi baar bhool jaati hu and start looking at it as we might in real life. Then, I completely forget the motivations of the character in the first place. I'm glad kisi ko to yaad hai.

I actually see your points now. I didn't say this before but you actually get this character the most. The remorse part does bother me a lot on a personal level but I can finally see why she doesn't regret her moves.
