It's easy to say if a film flops, it's not well-made. I don't agree with that logic.

Don't agree, Chappak had worst narration. I personally feel if an experienced Director was given that project, it would have come out different. Zoya or Hirani could have done a better job. As I mentioned before, a movie on social message doesn't necessarily need to be boring. Also, I watched only first half of ELKD, I didn't like half of what I saw. May be I shouldn't have talked about it as I didn't see the full movie but as I mentioned in some other thread that you have the ability to see something in a movie that doesn't exist or I'm just not mentally evolved to see that.😆

@bold I don't agree to that either and not every movie that flops is not well made. But the ones TM mentioned, it applies to all of them. I haven't watched Thappad so I'm giving it a benefit of doubt but as you mentioned in one of your threads, the trend is not in it's favor. I know only one person who watched it and she wasn't really impressed. The movie is not even releasing at my place.

Not only female centric movies this year there are hardly any hit films.

Still have parineeti with saina and girl on the train, kriti with mimi, alia with gangubai and sadak 2, jhanvi with gunjan saxena, vidya with shakuntala devi left to deliver this year. among others.

So far only female centric films with a societal message has been released this year. We cannot disregard all female centric roles and generalize that any film with the actress as the central character will not do well

queen, tanu weds manu, mary kom, piku, mardaani have all done well

Sadak 2 will bring in numbers too this year

She had plenty of compeition this year. but too bad the industry made it seem like she doesnt by handing an award to her for a sub par performance in comparison to other nominees. in terms of talent, she always has compeition. But absolutely no compeition in terms of her plentiful opportunities and the amount of hand holding she gets. You cant compete with that. Just BW things.

I agree. It isnt happening. He cant make someone unsuccessful. But he can help lift others up as high as possible which he has done with alia. Help is help. We all help people we want to see successful...but man if there was a overboard. he defines that.

KJo is working on it.

Alia has enough competition. It just SEEMS there is no competition, because she is handed everything on a platter and the others get offers on their own steam. This year, Parineeti has 2 big releases, which can put her right back in the big league. Taapsee had Thappad, Kangana has 2-3 big releases, Jhanvi the same. Anyone of these can oust Alia as actress of the year.
