Rekha never played Ratis role in the original. The original is in Telugu and Sarita played the role opposite Kamal. It was never even remade in Tamil. And it was released in 1978.

Rekha is talking about Punnagai Mannan in Tamil where she has a very small role where she dies in the beginning.

Yes u r right. I mixed up the movies. Haven't watched Punnagai Mannan. Rekha never became an A lister maybe that is why she had to be quiet for this long. I am shocked about balachander than Kamal to be honest.

No, in ek duje ke liye, both are injured... She is ra**d by the guy lusting after her and he is beaten up by some. I am not sure if they even meet up properly, probably just reach each other and fall to death..

The first scene of Punnagi Mannan has Rekha and KH committing suicide where Rekha dies but KH shirt gets stuck on a tree and he survives.
