this is so true. Rishi was spoiled rich but he wasn't bad at heart. he blackmailed Maaya but he never hurt her. he was a bit confused and immature- which is acceptable at his age..

guess all good qualities in Rishi were the result of his brother's love and upbringing.

but the endgame was the result of his parents' crimes. I wish he born as Maayra's child.

I was wondering if MJ had a daughter, would he still be the same?

the precap literally made me angry- how he tormented maaya with inappropriate touch and Antara is allowing that as long as Maya is dead or gone.

taking advantage of a woman is equal to that. he took Maanvi's reaction to his ego and made her fall for him so that he can have her and later discard.

and this is only one girl's story which is presented in the form of Maaya but he must have done this with 100s of women.

Rape does not only mean forcing a woman down and getting intimate with her by brute force.

Any situation , where there is physical intimacy happens under false information ( consent has to be informed consent or it is invalid ) or false promise is deemed as rape by law in many countries.

That is only by selective legal definition. Not the dictionary definition of rape. Otherwise any woman can claim rape by her boyfriend after a messy break-up.

In India it is a crime. Having sex with a woman by promising to marry her is a crime in India.

It may not be rape but it isn’t any less than rape either.

When a man in a position of power tells a woman that he will destroy her career unless she sleeps with him then that is a crime.

Similarly deceiving a woman just to have sex with her is also a crime. Making up stories, pretending to be single or unhappy in a marriage to dupe someone into having sex is a crime. MJ would have been arrested if he were some random chap.

Also it’s not very easy to claim rape after a messy break up, the police will never believe the girl. Instead they will blame the girl or think she is lying. Unless the break up is known to everyone of the couple’s friends and the girl obviously doesn’t want to patch up with the guy and sex that is non consensual has been established with adequate proof.

Here in Maya’s case it fall more under sexual exploitation. He was using Maya or Maanvi for his own pleasure and to satisfy his hurt ego. Which again is a crime no less than rape.

It is sexual exploitation, yes. Exploitation born out of power imbalance. It is unethical and morally reprehensible. But to call it 'rape' is trivializing the latter.

Rape is the ultimate heinous crime. Very few others can be at its level.

@bold I don’t agree with this, yes you can’t call it rape directly, however sexually exploiting someone is as bad as raping them.

No it's not 'as bad as', that's where your statement trivializes a heinous crime like rape.

In rape, the victim has NO CHOICE. NO CHOICE AT ALL. But in cases of deceit, the victim at least has the chance to decide for themselves. In rape there is no way out.

When you deceive someone, you take that choice away from them, because you are manipulating them into making a choice they shouldn’t be really making.

It’s just like those cases where women who wish to join the glamorous film industry end up getting duped into prostitution or marginalised women looking for work to support their families through agents get caught in human trafficking. Moreover if you take into consideration how Sudhir, Amir joined MJ it was obviously seemed believable enough to prey on an unsuspecting young woman.

When a person is raped their life is ruined, similarly getting exploited sexually also ruins their life.
