Keep in mind I haven’t seen either movie so my opinion is based on bits and pieces I have seen and all the online talk. While Alia’s character was toxic and she did physically attack someone her behavior falls in the “cat fight” category. Shahid’s was flat out domestic abuse. No excuses for Alia’s character. She committed assault and got away with it, right? But a physical brawl at a bar or restaurant is not at the same level as domestic abuse. Also, didn’t Kabir Singh the movie start with a rape scene being committed by Kabir?

Every new thing I hear about this movie turns out to be more and more disturbing and disgusting.

She wasn't from poor family, Murad was. Yes she she faced the "umaar hogayi shaadi karle" and "ladki ho,dhang se raho" wala restriction from her mom, lekin gareeb nahi thi Saifeena.

kabir singh was one of the biggest hits of 2019. This is cinema and not real life , people need to take a chill pill.

She didn't live in a slum, her house was near a slum. She was an MBBS's daughter. Working at her father's chamber. Khati peeti middle class ladki thi woh. Aise dekhe toh har ek BW character revolutionary hai sivaaye Kjo's middle class characters.

I think the main issue here is that Alia doesn’t deserve it more than the character being toxic
