What does that even mean? Theatrically a flop? Was it critically acclaimed?

Matlab sd3 verdict flop.
Out of all these SD3 and Chhapak are big surprise failures as most analysts prior to their release predicted better results.
Also, isn't Jawaani Jaaneman's verdict still on hold as it has chances to do well in week 2. Most trade sites are saying that business this week will decide it's fate.
this is actually quite bizarre how they haven't updated verdicts from April 2018 ( the month October released )Originally posted by: Shaitan-Haiwan
Boi stopped updating verdicts ever since Varun started flopping. Coincidence? Nope!

Yup. Varun must know someone there and is probably delaying their verdicts so that his film verdict sheet looks nice on their website or he’ll make everything an “average” in a few years when everyone will forget
Same like Sunny Deol how purchased Anupama and Rajeev and Gave them money to avoid them reviewing his jaanu beta
Maybe the film had revenue coming from different places other than cinema income. Music/satellite/merchandising etc.

They also stopped doing a yearly top 3 post 2010 around the time Salman came back to hug prominence 🤔

That’s practically true of any movie. Producers rarely lose money these days. It’s the distributors’ profit margin or lack thereof that matters. Sounds like BOI is playing with semantics.

Street Dancer is both a shocker and not. The trailer was pretty bad but so many bad trailers turn out to become hits. Also given that towards the end of promotions it was picking up buzz and one trade analyst had predicted a 20cr opening. Though I don’t remember who so it might have been just someone trying to create more hype. So yes it makes sense that it flopped given the trailer yet it’s still shocking that it did given everything else.
What’s really surprising to me is how Taran or BOI isn’t even putting a label on it. They are slowly writing it out but I don’t think either has used the word flop yet.
More reliable than Taran and BOI (Except when he's reporting his industry friends' and their sons' movies)
