I don't know about the trailer or the movie, but your question is not about that, is it? The answer is no. It is never okay to slap anyone, heat of the moment or not.

If the woman behind him was a 100 kg man, would the heat of the moment have happened? I highly doubt it. The husband hit because it was someone who could not possibly physically retaliate.

ETA. You're right that feminism is going to a new level. Women arw expecting to be treated as human beings. What a concept!

I know right.... feminism being overstretched now...Itna kuch toh de diye, now you want to be treated as a human being too?

But the last dialogue she did say that slap made her realize of his other flaws/mistakes which she kept ignoring for so long.

that’s her on fault for ignoring

(yes I am going to compare it now everytime with Kabir Singh, because befitting reply's PR is full on cashing on Kabir Singh, to lure the Kabir Singh critics, but she should know that the Kabir Singh critics are the freeloaders who don't pay for tickets.

LOL. Seeing a woman getting slapped and humiliated...'cinematically maza' aana bhi nahi chahiye. 'Cinematically maza' naa aaye..that's the point. Kyunki aaj tak toh maza le liye hi women are treated as props.

And ofcourse Kabir Singh did not have a message. Kya message de abuse glorification ka. Woh toh normal and completely normalised in our society. So tone deaf.

And I paid for my Kabir Singh ticket so did a lot of the critics. Freeloaders lol. Just because a product you are attached to is shitty does not mean people who criticized it are freeloaders. LMFAO.

This is NOT feminism and NOBODY is asking females to be treated like princesses. Growing up, I never saw my father hot my mother no matter how angry he got. My dad never even hit me. My mom hit me but not my dad. So if you think slapping your GF, Wife, etc is okay, then that's up to you. I personally will never take physical violence from my partner and I wouldn't do it my self. It's not okay.

The way this movie is getting on some of y'alls nerves. Phew.. job well done! 😆 The mentality that it's perfectly fine to hit your wife, slap your wife and that's SHE is the problem for trying to come out of the marriage... That's what's wrong with our society.

I think you should use the other side of your brain as well before writing this post. Do you even understand properly what the movie is trying to say. The slap is equal to and a step towards domestic violence. Also, it’s not about being treated like princess.. thats such a wrong line you have mentioned..it’s about being treated with respect....he doesn’t have the right to slap her in anyway...kabir singh for promotion!?? The shoot of this movie started wayyy back.. where did kabir singh come in between. Kabir singh already got the necessary flak.. good performance or good songs.. that’s separate but the while concept was ridiculous.

Simple and powerful. I love the last dialogue of hers where she mentions ki woh sab kuch nazar andaz kar rahi thi. Even if its just a slap that is something that can become much worse in the future.

People think men and women have become equal but thats not the case. My cook who is a woman is earning while her husband is a painter and does work once in a while. Apart from earning for her family she also takes care of the kids more than her. Her husband drinks and comes home often and she has to look after him as well. Fyi.. there is a love marriage.. still...

what a scary world for the men of India if they can't even slap their wives any more.. western influences !! feminism running amok!!

Exactly....What’s frustrating is when people dismiss off a woman's struggle to get some respect as something she does for thrills as she is being already given everything that many others cannot even dream of....Like how the TM was trivializing a ‘slap’ as apparently it cannot be called as domestic violence! There are people in my own family (both men and some older women) who fail to understand what the feminists are talking about as it seems women now are being ‘allowed’ to do everything that a man does...I mean, its just next to impossible to make some people understand what our real struggles are and what we are fighting for!

EDIT: Ooops...looks like the two threads on ‘thappad’ have been merged...
