I didn't like it

Just finished watching it. I liked it. But for Indian audience... nah... Piku aaj release hoti toh flop ho jaati... these are Netflix movies now.. theater ke liye nahin hai.

Besides Piku was relatable to Bengali folks and girls with older grand/parents. This one won't be that relatable. Aur aaj kal influencers' WOM se kaam nahin banti. People can see it through now.

Movie was ok. But it won't work here imo

Yeah, I felt the same too. Intern was a nice feel good movie and even I watched it online, and most people watch these sort of movies alone at home on streaming platforms now.

Also, If it’s a frame by frame remake, the movie is all on Rishi cuz Anne Hathaway didn’t have much to do - she had 2/3 emotional scenes that were the highlight of her performance but not much else. I like DP on-screen (off-screen is a totally different story), but idk if this is the right move for her to produce and act in - as you said, aisi filmein hall mein nahi chal rahi aaj kal.

Pili worked across all stratas of the society.

Tanhaji worked cos of the thrills, apparently, and the historic flavour of the season.

Mere logics padh ke sabhi ko chakkar aate hai. Lekin ek din patri pe zaroor aa jate hai woh log.

Ek summary de doon mere logics ke: Piku worked because those days there was no OTT platform, Piku worked because Bengalis liked it, Piku worked because women (with older parents/grandparents) could relate to it.

Aur yeh raha tumhare rolls eyes emoji mere taraf se.
