He is wrong in the way he is trying to prove his point. He doesn't value marriage, commitment, loyalty or even his sons feelings. He just wants to control them.

Arent 80% of Indian fathers like MJ in last gen(MJs age of 55-60)

Its only recent gen in 30s and 40s who are ok with freedom to their kids that too only in big cities

Forget Indian almost all Asian fathers are like MJ only they tend to order their kids around and rule their life atleast till kids become financial independent or marry

Lets not act that only MJ is dominating its a cultural thing mostly that kids have to do what parents especially fathers tell in society

So why blame only MJ? Thats how majority fathers of his gen did anyways control kids life

Even todays fathers are dominating they decide what kids must study what they should learn like music swimming etc

What people dont get is that mj is a control freak and has a massive ego where it is always important for him to be able to establish that he is always right and that he is powerful. That's why mj even said he tried to tell rudra that his girlfriend is a gold digger and rudra didnt believe him hence he chose to get intimate with his girlfriend just to prove his point about him being right.
