Sonakshi
Sonakshi looked at the time, 11:00 PM the clock read. Anytime now, Sonakshi thought although she hoped to god that it would stop. As if on cue, her phone started ringing. Sonakshi sighed heavily as she answered the phone.
"Sona.." Came in the husky voice through the receiver.
"Rohit, I thought that we had settled it once in for all yesterday, you promised me that you would stop drinking!" She tried hard to hide the pain and worry it caused her but it came undone in front of the man on the other side.
"Sona I need you..Please mere paas aa jao" He slurred.
"Rohit we talked about this. I need some time to think. Yeh mere liye bhi easy nahi hai but it's necessary. I have to sort out my priorities. I need to introspect and you need to do it too. That's what we decided remember?" She tried to reason with him, but it sounded more like she was convincing herself to do the same. This was harder than anything that she had ever done in life. To keep away from the only man she truly loved.
"Tu hi meri priority hai..Just tell me where you are and I'll come and get you. Please Sona..I am sorry, I should have never done what I did. Please forgive me.. please come back to me" He begged. Sona sensed the sadness in his voice. The same sadness she had felt when he doubted her. She was okay with his entire family doubting her, but when he did it, it broke her entire world. Only Pooja and Ajit had supported her at that time and it shattered them to see her go. She had assured them that she would come back soon but they were inconsolable.
"You have no idea how badly I want to forgive you Rohit.." she whispered.
"At least tell me where you are Sona..I probably won't remember tomorrow anyways considering how drunk I am." He pleaded. Sona paused for a minute and thought it over.
"I am in Pune, staying with an old childhood friend of mine. Pooji aur Ajit kaise hain?" She finally said. After everything that had gone down in the Sippy Mansion, the only two people she cared for, besides Rohit himself was Ajit and Pooja.
"They are fine. Pooja still won't talk to me and Ajit too isn't like how he used to be. They miss you so much Sona. If not for me, at least for them please come back.." He tried again.
"Please tell them I love them.." Sona said, leaving his question unanswered.

Rohit
"Please tell them I love them.." came the voice from the receiver. Besides him Pooja and Ajit looked lost. The only time they even came near him was when he was drunk dialing his wife. He knew that it wasn't to comfort him though. They only wanted to find out where Sona was staying, so that they could go meet her. He didn't have a problem with this because he too, wanted to find her. Every night, like clockwork they'd assemble in his room. After he found out how wrong he was about his Sona, he'd started drinking again, although he had promised her that he'd stop. Pooja always got a notepad with her and noted down details of the call, with the hope that it'd one day lead her to her bhabi.
Today was the day. They had finally got a place. Now if only they could get a name or an address, they'd find her.
"Come and tell them yourself." Rohit said, slightly mad at the fact that she hadn't told him that she loved him since she left, but then again, he couldn't blame her. What he had done was very wrong and he deserved this punishment. When he didn't hear anything from her, he continued.
"Saheli ka naam kya hai?" Rohit asked, keeping his hopes high. Silence followed again.
"Sona please tell me, it's not a difficult question." He said. Besides him, Pooja looked hopeful. He hadn't seen her like this for a long time. To be precise, the last time he had seen a bubbly, smiling Pooji was when Sona was still with them. Ajit too seemed eager to hear her response.
"Raj." She finally said. Raj. The name echoed in Rohit's mind. His Sona was staying with another guy. His mouth went dry. He felt as though a bullet had pierced his heart from the inside. Cold beads of sweat trickled down his neck. Quietly, he loosened his tie. He looked at Ajit first, and then at Pooja. They looked as dejected as he himself was. For the first time in a very long time, he felt like they were with him, that they would support him to get his Sona back. Before he could say anything, Sona continued on the other side of the line.
"He's just a friend Rohit.. He's like a brother to me. He went to the same medical college as Pulki. In fact, he's the reason Pulkit wanted to be a doctor in the first place. He's like family to me." She reasoned.
He's a doctor like me, Rohit thought but then he heard Sona's voice in his head and made a mental note to himself, But I'm Doctor Surgeon. He almost let out a smile, surprising both Pooja and Ajit who just sat there shell shocked listening to what their bhabi had said.
"You know I love you right?" He asked, hoping that he would finally get to hear what he had been waiting for, for nearly a month now.
"Yes Rohit. Me too." Came the voice from the other end. After that, the call ended with a beep, Me too she had said. She hadn't said I love you but to him, Me too was progress.
"So?" Pooji said, looking straight at Rohit. It was the first time she had said anything to him after their fight.
"Pooji, Ajit I'm so sorry." Rohit said, hoping that they would finally forgive him.
"Shut up Bhai! We'll forgive you when bhabi forgives you." Ajit said. He was clearly still very angry at Rohit.
"Pehle we have to go see for ourselves who this Doctor Raj is right? Otherwise Sona bhabi kisi aur ki bhabi ban jayegi" Pooja said the last part with a smile and Ajit too joined in. They were joking but Rohit was very serious. Although he trusted his Sona,now more than ever, he couldn't trust a guy to be just friends with his wife. He had tried that too and look where that landed him.
