Well

At the end

All the journos and lefty crowd who hate modi and this govt praise anyone who sort of opposes this govt

Last year they were praising iman khan for releasing wing commander abhinandan

As something extraordinary when it was binding upon them to release him due to international laws

🤔 bravery?

Isme kya bravery thi?

And Tanhaji isn't a movie about testosterone filled male actors..Salman Khan ki dabangg type movie nahi hai ye..

It's a tale of our history which just finds a fleeting mention in our school history books..it deserves its place in bollywood

And please don't imply that Deepika is a goddess and has shown some 'path' to us..as if we r lucky enough to be born in her times

Tbh its not something to be proud of. Especially not at a time when there are serious tensions in the country. And I say this being a person who enjoys watching Deepika on screen.

Deepika never spoke up for the various other incidents before the JNU one (which strangely coincided with her film's release).

She only ever spoke up when it was about her films or something. Like Padmaavat for example.

Why now and why not before? No matter which side you support or if u are neutral, its pretty obvious why she did it. #PRstunt

Disappointing really. Shallow thinking and stupid action really. Not everything has to be used and twisted to make it about you.

Jeez. Some of the desperation to make her some sort of a martyr is utterly puke-worthy. Yikes!

Chappak is one film.

Her brands, the money in her bank, her investments, taxes, her family members, her husband and family... everything is at risk now. Even her safety. There have been people in BW who've gotten shot over less. She ain't stupid not to know it when she went there. She is really so diplomatic most of the time.

Of all the younger BW peeps, I thought of her as the one I least disliked. Also thought (and still think) she's below average in acting. Now, I'm a fan (of the person, not the actress).

As for the peeps who can't look past their hatred to see the above, God bless you.

People in Bollywood have been shot by Dawood and gang, not by RW gang till now.

And exactly she is not stupid ,she knew exactly when she went there. She knew she'll get the publicity to promote her movie, and nothing else 😆

Arrey she didn't even comment on "Acid attack victims " prior to this movie, when she was asked to comment on the same.

She doesn't care about any social issues or anything, it's only about her movies and money

Why are you guys so naive?

If Padmavat controversy couldn't hurt Deepika, this minor attention seeking tactic won't either.

She and her husband are doing the classic Twinkle/Akki tactics of hubby being Govt feet kicker and wife being opposite. Nothing will happen to her, just like nothing happened to Swara, Tapsee, Sonam and so on.

It might be a PR stunt but it's still a risky one. She is somewhat protected by her husband's affiliation with Modi. Being a Hindu helps a lot too.

You have to realize it's not just about one movie. If brands think she is not a universally liked star, they may start dropping her. From now on, she will be considered a leftist unless she does something drastic again.

BJP leaders are bullying her, not just their IT cells. Gopal Bhargav, a senior leader from MP told her to "go dance in Mumbai." JNU's vice chancellor is questioning why she won't stand with the other students. Another BJP leader Ashish Shehlar said she needs to stop acting like a warrior because in real life, there is no director behind her like Bhansali. He also called her insensitive and inappropriate. The govt also dropped her from a Skill India promo video she was doing for them.

Media contacted marketing agencies to ask about her brands. Some people said everything will be forgotten in a weak and there will be no effect on Deepika while others said that brands will wait to see which way the wind is blowing. If the majority turns against her, she might lose contracts.

Whatever you think about her, it is still a risky move and not as easy as people are making it. It might work out great for her but it might not also.
