Maya says the truth only to Rudra, so I think she was telling the truth, and it seems the truth to me cause it solved the 444 mystery.

Maya knows Rudra is a smart guy and with a strong character. She knows if she has to keep him on her side, she needs to be completely honest (at least appear to be) so that's one reason and another is, Maya unconsciously trusts Rudra, the way she described him, it was telling that she trusts him with at least basic human decency. So she's just being honest due to this reason too.

She is clinging onto the hope that he might reciprocate her feelings some day. She is wishful about the marriage as well. She has her self respect intact because despite loving him, she doesn’t let him walk all over her. Her wanting to know about his feelings, may seem insecure but also if they develop her arc properly, it can also be her way of backing off with her head held high.
