We'll at least get some version of Mahabharat on screen, for which audience is thirsting since decades. I'll accept Deepika as a Superstar if that happens.😆

Jokes apart, I think this would have to be made at a Baahubali scale, not to mention it has to be really great script wise.

I really don't think Deepika is the right choice for the role. The character is so nuanced. It's has many layers. I highly doubt she could pull it off convincingly but she has star power so it could attract audience.

Deepika can't pull off such a character. It is going to flop definitely 🤔

Draupadi is one of the most difficult characters to pull off. I doubt if Deepika has it in her to do it. Tabu or Madhuri would have done it very well. Kangana Ranaut might also do it well.

But if Padukone can pull it off then surely it will separate her from her contemporaries.

I feel Deepika will turn Draupadi into a weepy idiot or vengeful dunce. Just can't see her portraying the empress of Aryavarta with any of the strength. Not to mention Draupadi was supposed to be so gorgeous even the trees stilled when she walked by. Deepika is pretty but not that level pretty. So neither the strength nor the beauty.

Tabu and Kangana, yeah. Either could do the strong role though they're pretty much middling in the beauty department. Not Madhuri - same issues as Deepika. Maybe Sridevi could've.

My ideal would've been the old Priyanka or Sushmita.

I guess Deepika Padukone would be able to perform well if the character is well written. She pulled off Veronica well in my opinion. Also, goes without saying that she needs a strong director who understands the material well.

P. S. I know that a fictional character shouldn't be compared to a real life figure. My apologies.
