I still hold up to that maya rudra had a past.. they were meant to be together which MJ did not let it happen.. now time will replay their life.
I'm with you on this.
Beautiful post 👏
Sorry, I couldn't comment earlier, my area's internet was switched off as per govt orders. Coming to the post, I agree with you every bit. There was an air of war throughout the entire episode. Interesting observations! I would like to write about the part where Maya puts ashes in her mouth. If I am not wrong there is a saying in Hindi that whatever a kali zaban says comes true. Let's see which of Maya's words come to life at the party.
Dec 20th - Past and Present Collide
The Clown Rishi - Now I say this from Rudra's perspective. In his view, Rishi is a clown and that's why he didn't take Rishi seriously about his "baby". In fact, if anything, Rudra almost mocked Rishi over her. And I don't blame him fully. Rishi has not taken relationships seriously to this point and Rudra can tell that Rishi isn't taking this relationship seriously as well, so why should he? At the same time, as the older and protective brother, he should show some concern for Rishi, especially given that this is the second time Rishi has mentioned that Maya wants to get married.
Dimak vs dil - Aha Rudra has begun the dimak vs dil process and that too with Maya. Beta abhi toh aur dimak aur dil ki ladai hone wali hai. 😆 It'll be important though because Rudra will need to understand when is the right time to listen to the heart and when is the right time to listen to the head. That's what will get him through this. And while this is his first time, hence the confusion, he'll have to learn fast because Maya is someone who will not let him relax even for a minute.
I mean she's already started. His whole thinking that Maya was behind the masquerade party was smart and, to be frank, kind of hilarious. He connected the dots well, but Maya is smarter, she turned it back on him.
And she's also affecting his dil with moves such as the zipper today. Even when he feels awkward with such things, he still helps her out because it is the gentlemanly thing to do.
The path to revenge - One of today's most important scenes was Maya's entry into the Roy family. This is the first time the CVs have given us more than just a glimpse of Maya's past. Today they showed us both the past and the present together. And the juxtapositions couldn't have been more vivid. From the shy, demure, timid, innocent, sweet, and light Maya to the revengeful, angry, cunning, and dark Maya. Even the concentration on the feet was important. The old Maya was one who would walk barefoot to be with you. Barefoot just like her heart - bare, open, available. This new Maya wears daggers from head to toe. Her feet could kill you - pencil heels can cause a lot of pain and if used properly could stab someone. They are like her heart - cold, calculative, daggers.
Rajiv Chandra - Oooh there's some history between MJ and Rajiv here! The way MJ tried to control himself from socking Rajiv in the face when he hugged MJ was priceless. MJ beta, Maya ne aapna har daon bahut soch samjh ke khela hai. 😆 Poor MJ though. He was probably wondering why Rudra isn't coming to him to stop him from stealing away the "investor". There's no doubt that Rajiv is Maya's partner. Maya wouldn't just hire an actor or trust someone just like that. There's a shared history here. Rajiv has some reason to take revenge from MJ as well and that's why the enemy of an enemy is a friend. He can say all he wants that it has to do with his company, I don't think that's the only reason. There's a personal enmity here as well. A very deep personal enmity.
Kudos to Rajiv though. Despite being hung from the balcony, he looked so calm. Like he does this everyday.
Rajiv is the third most important scene from today. His entry and face-off with MJ at the balcony is key. Haan main wohi joker hoon jo kabhi kabhi hari huyi baazi ko bhi jeeta jaata hai. So true! In any game, the joker is actually the most powerful card. In gin rummy, the joker can fit in anywhere to complete a meld and win the game. In poker, the joker can often be used as a wildcard in flushes and straights - incidentally the highest hands needed to win. In Crazy Eights, it can be used to force a player to skip a turn. In Euchre, it is the trump card. The joker is not to be taken lightly, which is what MJ is doing currently. Rajiv may be a joker, but he is a trump card, a wild card, a powerful card.
The Past and the Present - This is another important scene from today. Another past vs present. Today we saw exactly who is on Maya's radar and that is everyone. In her view every single one of these people wronged her from MJ to Antara to Dadi to Aamir. They were all in on it. I say, in her view, because so far we've only seen one side of the story. We do not know what Aamir's story. We do not know what Diya's story. We do not know what that manager's story is. We do not know yet and until we don't find out, it's hard to accuse them all of being involved willingly or consciously.
10 Years Again - Today was key because we learnt that whatever happened with Maya happened 10 years ago. The same time when Rudra began to hate MJ for reasons only known to them. The same time when MJ changed drastically. This 10 years ago is quite important and possibly connects all 3 characters, and in fact all the characters, on many levels. I wouldn't be surprised if the last time Rajiv and MJ met was 10 years ago as well.
Other Notes:
The past-present parallel of the two versions of Maya's was awesome to watch. The fact that the past was all white-hinting purity, peace and the future black-hinting loss, revenge was nice to see. Interesting that Rudras outfit had both white and black. Seems like a conscious choice by the cvs. Maybe he is the shield, maybe he is the bridge, maybe he is the reason. We will have to wait to see that unfold.
The cvs actually kept consistency with the office scene of MJ-Maya. There she was unprepared for his arrival. Here she is more prepared. She had a facade-the mask. She had an ally-Rajeev and a shield -Rudra to rely on. But she was still affected by the sound of his progressing footsteps and that brushin had her shaken.
Rajeev as a character is important and I loved your joker analysis. I just wish they had a better actor. The guy seemed like a total clown.
Rudra is really smart and I think is going to be a match for Maya. Loved how he solved the masquerade thing But ofcourse this being Mayas game, she has the advantage.
Seeing Maya feel affected during the buttoning up scene made me wonder if there is a past bond between MayRa and she knows Rudra can soften her heart and her resolve and that's why she wants to restrict Rudra for office politics and Rishi for the love game? As always love reading your analysis.

@ Bold: Yes. They don't want to show him in one colour only because else it becomes really obvious what side he'll be on. Plus, painting him both colours shows that even he'll be indecisive at the beginning originally.
@ Red: I want to give the actor a chance. The CVs seem to have been very diligent with their casting and if they cast Paaras Maadan for this role, then it's possible they have something in mind for the character. Plus, I think they chose someone who seems to be a clown, so that he won't seem a likely opponent for MJ. I felt MJ owned the scene in the balcony, until Rajiv became serious and reminded MJ that even as a joker he has the ability to change the game. Paaras did well and I feel he has potential to shine.
I completely agree with yours other points😊
Firstly I love ur posts.. ur perspective is something else.. I defo wait to read ur views everyday..
Maya coming into the house then and now was well shot.. like u said from her clothes to shoes all spoke of sharpness. Even her hair which she straightened them..
Maya was not invited by Rishi and the investor who came was Rajiv.. So Maya sole reason of connecting to the house again became Rudra only.. it again shows that Rudra will be the only link to Mj and family for her revenge.. Even though he himself is disconnected.. he will have to still be a shield here wether he wants or not.. For Rudra it will eventually be a game of Heart and mind.. She will take him away and he will oblige to back her up...
My question is will Rudra ever tell anyone what happened in the past.. his mom bro bestie noone knows.. he might tell Maya probably.. I dont think even she knows.. she keeps asking him what is he running from.. like Maya said once u tell ur part to someone it moves into their hands as their strength and ur weakness.. she is looking for that weakness in Rudra to hold.. it's not easy to get it out of him as even his closest ppl whom he trusts dont know it..
Again Rudra is a clear person in all means.. He did not mask himself.. he has nothing to Mask to anyone..
So the wrong doers for Maya is everyone in MJ house except his sons.. So Rudra Rishi here are mere weapons for her whom she will use at every step to revenge the rest.. and ofcourse MJs biggest weakness is his sons.. so what better than taking that away..
MJ doesnt want Rudra company to succeed without him and he is ready to kill anyone who comes in between that.. that also could be the reason in past , MJ might have come in between Rudra and the girl he loved.. MJ has come far from being a doting dad in the 1st epi to a cold blooded man now.. I am sure there is still so much more we have to see yet..
Rajiv the joker.. He has his own things against MJ.. but then one must remember that the Joker can change the game for anyone.. For now he is the game changer to Maya.. but he has his own agenda.. I wonder if he can be trusted far enough.. Also Rudra doesnt know Rajiv ?
So Antara is will be attacked by Maya... but Maya is not here to kill anyone.. that's something I have understood.. killing is easy.. Like maya said Rudra is her link to MJ.. but Antara is his weakness.. Rudra is still with the family due to her.. breaking this link will free Rudra from the family. She investing into his company, already made him financially independent.. that way completely unlocking Rudra.. again water here is something that liberates u.. will it liberate Antara is to see..
Again they used the colours white and black for Maya and Rudra.. I always like their dark and bright combo they try to give us..

I wouldn't be surprised if the last time Rajiv and MJ met was 10 years ago as well.
Other Notes:
- CVs seemed lax for the first time. The whole masquerade party starting in the middle was stupid. People have already seen each other face-to-face, now what's the point of a masquerade party. It would have been better if the party had started like that, it would have added to the intrigue. This was a lame attempt to keep Maya hidden and even with the mask, she is actually not well hidden either.
- The sudden progression in Maya seemed a bit hard to digest. Only yesterday she had a panic attack the moment she felt MJ's presence, and today, suddenly, she only reacted if MJ came close to her and that too was subjective. She brushed up against MJ and nothing. CVs you have to be a bit more consistent or at least show us that Maya is trying to control herself.
- CVs one more thing - the backdrops and the stunts. Technically two points, but they both are the same thing - MAKE THEM MORE REALISTIC! The Mumbai backdrop when MJ was hanging Rajiv looked so fake. And it always has whether behind Maya or MJ. Secondly, in the same scene, whenever there were close-ups it seemed quite obvious that Rajiv wasn't hanging anywhere. He was probably standing with bent knees to make it look like he was hanging mid-air. I don't expect the actors to put their lives at risk, but then make stunts less dangerous.
@red- This very fact about Rishi can be used by Maya to drive a wedge between Rishi and Rudra. The more Maya and Rudra start coming closer, and Rudra begins to feel differently, Maya may back off. By then probably Rishi could have dumped her, which could affect her game plan. Maya might plan everything, but she may have forgotten to consider that Mrityunjay is there. Rishi may want a way out from Maya and Mrityunjay would be more than willing to help. Rudra and Rishi may come to know that their Maya is the same Maya, and Rishi's stupidity breaks Maya's heart supposedly, which Rudra comes to know and expresses his disappointment in his brother.
@green - In the MayRa equation, there are more chances of Rudra falling for Maya first and Maya falling later. Maya is too involved in her revenge game. To actually fall for Rudra, she needs to see that side of Rudra, which is closed as of now. People like Rudra take their time to fall in love again, but when they do embrace love, they love hard. When that happens, we have to see how Rudra's love fights Maya's hate.
@blue - This guy is capable of changing the game completely, for both Maya and Mrityunjay. I am getting all the Shakuni vibes from him.
@pink - Show ka naam 'Kissa Dus Saal ka' hona chahiye. Sab ke issues 10 saal pehle shuru huya tha. To solve karne me 10 saal kyun lagaye.🤪
