Caught in the Trap - And it's done. Rishi is caught. He is trapped. And there's no escaping it now. Rishi walked into Maya's trap easily and blindly. By the time he realized he was caught, it was too late. Maya drew the trap around him well. By playing hard to get and then by showing her "love", she drew him in with a good foundation. She forced him to accept he loves her. Then she made him feel helpless and finally she played him into proposing to her even though he never intended to. Marriage was never in the cards. Rishi just wanted to have fun with her and then leave her. MJ's son through and through. Even the red colour and fake act of cutting himself was something that MJ would have thought up. A cunning move to trap an "innocent" girl.

One thing to note here is that when Maya said tumhare aapno ne dhokha diya tha, Rishi's reaction was completely opposite to what MJ or Rudra's reaction would have been. Maya easily manipulated her words to mean all rich people, but both MJ and Rudra would have seen right through the generalization to understand that Maya is talking about the Roy family in specific. Rishi just accepted whatever Maya threw at him because he was getting so overwhelmed.

Finally the last thing I want to talk about here is how misunderstood Rishi is. Rudra and Ananya didn't see the actual problem Rishi was having. They were just fighting over their differing opinions. The problem is that in his junoon of getting Maya, Rishi himself got trapped in this. He can't tell anyone about Maya and yet he realizes how stuck he is as well. It'll be interesting to see what he does to try and get out of this mess. I honestly doubt he'll do much because someone or the other will taunt his ego and he'll keep forging ahead blindly.

Pyaar ek din teri jaan lelega. Foreshadowing or just a red herring? The way the CVs drove home that point with the echo makes me think the latter. We already have a strong inkling that Rishi will die. How many more times will they punctuate it? And the repeated punctuations on it make it less and less likely that this will happen.

BTW, these 3 are awesome. Shivin's actions at hamari koi problem nahi hai teri shaadi cancel were the highlight, but these 3 have such a good camaraderie, it shows. I bet offscreen they have become friends as well, which is why their scenes are so easy to believe and see.

MJ's first mini loss - Without even knowing who was doing this, MJ had an inkling that he was being drawn into a game and had suffered a loss. Rishi ignored his call for the first time ever and it was a loss for MJ. His first loss.

Rudra and Ananya's sleepover - Oh god these two. They are such good friends and yet hilarious as hell. It was cute that the CVs made Ananya a snorer. And thank you for making her sleep clothes look realistic! But who watches CID in a sleepover? Daya se Maya tak. Sahi hai Rudra beta. D aur M ka hi toh antar hai. And her entry in CID made him jump in surprise. Chalo at least the CVs haven't started some filmi love track where the guy sees the girl everywhere for no reason. Makes sense though that Rudra saw Maya like that. She had a big impact on him in one day already.

Behind closed doors - Up to now we had seen only one facet of MJ, the facet that was out in the open. Cunning, clever, cold, and controlling. But now we're seeing the real MJ. The one that is behind closed doors: cruel and calculating. These are the 6Cs that define MJ. The real MJ. MJ doesn't need Antara supposedly, but he can't do without her either. She's the only one that ties Rudra to MJ. And if Maya does away with Antara, then the only link tying Rudra to MJ is also gone. Then what will MJ do?

Filing away the feel - Point to note, Maya only does this every time Rishi touches her. She touched Rudra, Rudra touched her (in fact held her) and yet she did nothing of the sort. That's because Rishi is MJ Part 2 - I'm Rishi Mrityunjay Roy. On the other hand, Rudra doesn't even want to use the name Roy - like when he introduced himself to Nandini.

Considering herself a vessel of God - Maya is not doing anything or killing anyone because she wants to but because she thinks God wants to through her. Interesting. So that means there will be deaths by her hand, but only because God himself can't do it directly.

Immersing herself - Maya is repeatedly immersing herself in water. That's her way of fighting her fear. She was almost drowned in water. Now she needs to remind herself that it's nothing to be scared of.

Additionally, this is a way of repeatedly cleansing herself of the day's deeds. By immersing herself completely, she comes out everyday "reborn". It's like the first episode, a new Maya dawns everyday, ridding herself of the past.

Precap - I doubt that MJ and Maya were speaking to each other. MJ is probably speaking to Maya's hidden friend who won't be hidden any longer and Maya was speaking to Rudra or Ananya. There's no way that MJ wouldn't have recognized Maya's voice like that or at least wouldn't have felt that it was a familiar voice.

@red - Honestly, nowadays whenever this death reference comes up, the only thing I can think of is when we say, 'Ab to tu gaya', which we don't say because we mean you will die, but it is more like either you give a heavy penalty or a terrible punishment to pay for what you did. Rishi I guess will do the same because of Mrityunjay. Or maybe young Rishi was also used by Mrityunjay in his dirty game against Maya and her family.

@blue - Maya continues to interpret the Geeta for her purpose, and the Geeta explains that innocent lives claimed in battle are just a medium for you to move ahead in your cause, because those sacrifices are made to justify your crusade for truth to prevail. So whether Rishi becomes dark or Antara becomes useless, those sacrifices are justified.

@purple- Immersing herself in water is also to cleanse herself of Rishi's touch, since he is so much like Mrityunjay. She is also kind of absolving herself of the pain she endured because of drowning and foreshadowed what she will be inflicting on Antara. She is just giving back all that she received in kind.

@green - I agree with your point made. But Mrityunjay did not recognize Maya's name either, so it could be her or as you said, Maya's faceless friend who will be identified soon enough.

I enjoyed reading your analysis.

1. I liked the immersing part, where she feels she's reborn everyday. And also, cleansing herself of her deeds. And also reminding herself that she need not be fearful of the water. Basically if you force yourself to face your fear, then eventually the fear will dissipate.

2. I don't think Rishi will die. He isn't really THAT innocent. There are phases to him when he uses his innocence to get things done his way. I mentioned this already, but his true love is more dishonest than Maya's deceit of love. Maya, in her betrayal is more honest than Rishi is, in his apparent love for Maya, that we could see when she cut his hand. She probably knew he hadn't cut his hand and all that, but whatever said and done, she has the guts to cheat honestly and bravely. Rishi is just on MJ's path, maybe has it easier than MJ coz maybe MJ had to build his entire empire himself and Rishi's got it on a platter.

3. It's probable that Rishi's innocence and gullibility will die And he'd emerge stronger and darker and more dangerous, coz he's capable of the same. He's also exactly like his Dad. What's easily available isn't valued. Antara, who likes him, he gives her no value.

Similarly, Maya seemed extremely important to Rishi when she wasn't talking to him and wasn't approachable. Now that she's volunteering to talk to him and text him, he doesn't attach value to it.

4. RuAn 🤣. The snoring. And thankfully he saw Maya in Daya, showing she's pretty scary to him. 🤣 Coz people used to get scared of Daya. Why they were watching CID? Coz it's Sony. And I doubt they can show them watching Taarak Mehta. Though it would have been fun as hell. 🤣🤣🤣 I LOVE their girls' night fun. It's so cute that only a best friend can do, for a girl. 🤣🤣

Water seems to be a consistent theme in the episodes? Always symbolic, at times used for immersion, at times for renewal, and times for cleansing/closure.

Great analysis as always Shreya and enjoyed reading everyone else's points as well. 🤗

For me the parallel between MJ-Antara and Maya-Rishi is what stood out the most. The MJ-Maya duel will be to die for. Can't wait for the party night.

As everyone said, Rishi is either losing his life or his innocence and as always his defeat is Mayas win. I wonder if she is serious about the 10-15 din pyaar and then shaadi. RuAn scenes made me chuckle so hard. These two bffs are adorable. ❤️

Remember the first time Rishi had accidentally touched her hand, she poured on it a streaming cup of coffee right then and there. After that she seems to have mentally prepared herself for the ordeal so that she does not react like that at least on his face.

But she actually cut her wrist which shows to what extent she can go to ensue her revenge. When said masoomo ki bali chadti hai looking at her wrist, I felt she is using herself as a bali in her own war.

There is an interesting parallel between Rishi and Rudra. Rishi is not even sure about loving Maya but he is all set to possess her to satisfy his ego. Whereas Rudra's mind is full of Maya's thoughts, ever since she helped him break the doors of his fears. Her shades intrigue her, he wants to know her more, he can submit his ego in front of her. But he isn't sure it is love.

MJ was so cruel to Antara, I felt bad for her. But that's the life she chose to live, she doesn't have the guts to turn tables like Maya and threaten to leave instead.

Edit: This struck me later. The way Maya said wada karo jab tak zinda ho mere saath rahoge, I feel first he would go Duryodhan's way, then his Duryodhan self might take a detour an become an Abhimanyu. He might die fighting her battle for her. Rudra once said Rishi was almost like his baccha.

@ Bold: Yes so true. She had to really control herself every time Rishi touched her, but she managed to do so.

@ Red: Could be. The more we see of her, the more I agree with you. It's like she's using herself to win this war.

@ Blue: But look at the effect that MJ's words have had on Antara. She's taking pills, it looks like she's getting drunk. She's been destroyed just by those words. Up to now she considered herself important to MJ and that's why she stayed with him. But MJ destroyed that belief with a few words.

@ Red: Yes. I do feel that there will be deaths. I still feel that, but now I'm no longer seeing it as a foreshadowing every time that sentence is iterated and CVs punctuate it with the echoing and silence.

@ Green: But names can be changed and voices cannot always be changed and it didn't seem like Maya was using a voice modulator. Plus in the promo they showed Paras's character hugging MJ. It could be a business hug. There are people who hug even when they meet for the first time in business settings and this is a party.

In CP, they'll often have either Taarak Mehta, CID, or CP running on the TV in the background if they want to show anything. It's hilarious because they'll use that even in bar scenes, like people at a bar are going to be watching something like CID or CP. 🤣

Agreed with you ...Maya have trapped rishi I. Such a way or I say now Maya has become that kadwa ghoot for rishi that he neither swallow it ,nor he spit it

He don't want to marry coz marriage is not in his cards he just wanted to enjoy her for sometime , flaunt her infront of his friends thwn throw her away

But now watching her slit wrist he can't even back out now he have to do what Maya says

Yeah rishi is not that smart who'll know the meaning behind her words .....in someway he's just a child

Loved Anu rishi and Rudra scene really enjoyed it.....Rudra and any have such an adorable friendship

Ahhh MJ ,this man only value blood relations other persons are nothing just a pawns for him

And Antara is also obsessed with MJ

Dec 19th - The Preparations Begin

Tomorrow's party in my mind is the beginning of the war. Up to now we'd been getting to know the characters better as they each were developed and presented to us. But now, it is time for the war to begin and today was the preparations for that war. So today I'm going to present my thoughts in a different way. Instead of focusing on certain scenes, I'm going to focus on characters and/or groups of characters together.

Nandini - This may be an unpopular opinion, but in my view, even Nandini is preparing for the war. She isn't as clueless as she first appeared. She knows what changes Maya has undergone and she knows that nothing everything is as hunky dory as Maya tries to make it seem. She may be dreaming of bringing Rudra into Maya's life, but she also knows that Maya wants to block everyone out. And in her own way, she prepared for the war. First by reminding her that she has changed a lot - tere papa yahan hote toh aisa kabhi nahi hota. Yes, that's someone remembering the past, but we remember the past when we don't like the present or the future or we wish we could change something in the past. Nandini keeps going back to the past because of both reasons. She wishes she could have changed something and, at the same time, she doesn't like where things are going. She wants to stop Maya, but has no way of doing so.

Then she is also preparing for the war by accepting the inevitable. Feeding Maya dhai-chini and then reminding her to let go of the past is her last ditch effort to both dissuade Maya and convince herself. The war has begun and while she wants to stop Maya, she knows she can't and has thus accepted it.

Antara - Antara is preparing for the war by realizing that she is just collateral, not even a weapon, just collateral like a fort or furniture. Collateral that can be used when MJ wants and can be discarded as well. She also realizes that she can be discarded at any time and fears that moment. She will also be one of the first to be claimed by Maya in this battle - whether with death or by some other fate.

Interestingly, she doesn't even know the reason for the war or why she has become collateral. She doesn't know why Rudra and MJ have drifted so far apart. She doesn't know what Maya is doing to Rudra. She doesn't know what Maya is doing to Rishi. She is clueless because she is vulnerable and those that are most vulnerable are the first to fall. Yet, those that are vulnerable are also often the most important parts of any war and that is only seen in hindsight.

Rishi - Rishi is technically already ready for the war as a bakra. He has been caught in a chakravyuh and now he's falling deeper into it. But he is not one to be taken so lightly. He may be getting pulled into a chakravyuh right now, but he's MJ's son and he could potentially find his way out.

Of course, first he has to understand that Maya is doing the same thing that MJ does. Controlling his life. Before, whenever MJ called, Rishi would pick up. That much was established yesterday. But today, Maya has taken that place. As soon as 444 called, he immediately rushed to pick-up the call. Maya has scared him into submission, but a submissive personality can become a dominant one given the right situation. Maya will have to be really careful with Rishi because if Rishi retaliates, it could be enough to cause waves in Maya's plan and potentially hamper it.

Ananya - Ananya is probably the most innocent here. And yet she is a key part of this war as well. While she isn't preparing for it because she has no idea about it, she is part of the war. She is actually the only person around who could make or break this. If MJ manages to turn her to his side, she could spell doom for Maya, but if she sees through MJ in time, then she will spell doom for him. Because Ananya's "mistakes" could cost either side a lot, similar to how MJ used her to get the press to capture Maya's photo. She will be used again and again as both Maya and MJ fight this war, but it'll be up to her and her intellect to find the right side.

Rudra - Rudra is the key here and yes I purposefully left him out to this point because he represents several key aspects here.

Firstly his hatred towards MJ. Despite coming to terms with what happened in the past, it still makes him angry. He has gotten over the pain of the deceit, but only from his girlfriend's side, not from MJ's. Maya helped him let go of the pain, not of the anger. And it's this anger that she needs the most because it's this anger that will drive MJ to the brink of destruction.

Secondly he has to accompany Maya. I found those words of his to be very interesting. There are so many facets to these words. Firstly and, most importantly for him, he knows MJ and he thinks MJ will try to sway Maya in his favour so that Rudra has to go back to MJ. He's not wrong. That's exactly what MJ is thinking. And this is key to this war because Maya chose Rudra to be her weapon for a reason. It's because Rudra understands MJ's thinking and his moves well and while Rudra may not know the best way to counter them, Maya can counter them through Rudra. Secondly, the impact Maya has had on Rudra has led him to say these words. He knows that Maya can be affected at this party and while it's for the wrong reason, he still has to be there for her - to support her. He owes her that much for helping him move over his pain. Finally, he has to accompany Maya is a reminder that he is a weapon and shield both and one does not enter a war without a weapon and/or a shield. While he obviously doesn't know this, the symbolism is strong here. He is important to this war and he will accompany Maya wherever she goes, but not always out of need. Sometimes it'll be a choice as well. He had a choice here. He didn't have to go, but he knew he had to go because MJ could do anything.

MJ - MJ is preparing for war as well, just the wrong war. He's trying to bring back Rudra, but in the process is losing Rishi and Antara. For him, Rishi and Antara are collateral, Rishi a bit more important than Antara, but both these collaterals are quite important. Without them, the war will bend in Maya's favour.

MJ's preparation for war is to befriend an "enemy" to prove that he is the most important to everyone. And for that he's using his trusted minister, Aamir. But is Aamir really to be trusted? Is he as simple and straightforward as he seems? That remains to be seen.

I'm not going to talk much about MJ today because other characters have a bit more relevance today and we will have more than enough time to analyze him and his preparations as the story and war progresses.

Maya - Maya has built her webs, she has built her plans, she has developed her hatred, she has honed her revenge, she has destroyed and rebuilt herself into both a pawn and the Queen, and now it is time. It is time to take this war to the forefront. Tomorrow when she enters the Roy house, the war will be set in motion. She will still be a hidden enemy for MJ, but by stepping into his house, she has declared war.

Maya has ensnared Rishi into a chakravyuh and is now heading towards Rudra to ensnare him as well. But, in his case, he's being ensnared to be a weapon. Rudra will fight MJ for Maya and with Maya. While Rishi will be used to deal a big blow to MJ. A very big blow.

I'm not going to talk much about Maya today because other characters have a bit more relevance today and hence she made it to the bottom of this list today only because her preparations began long back and thus have been discussed quite a bit.

Other Notes - I still refuse to believe that MJ and Maya were talking to each other about the party. Their confrontation or first conversation will be important. The CVs wouldn't waste it with a simple phone call that appears as if they are talking to each other.

Firstly for both Maya and Rudra. This very party took away many things from them.. For rudra it looks like the one he loved and was most dear to him.. For maya we dont know yet..

So Rudra now fearing that this day will take away Maya who is at the moment most important for him..but his words indicated so much more.. it seemed like things were repeating again.. remember Maya said that we meet the same situations again in life which we did in the past.. I still hold up to that maya rudra had a past.. they were meant to be together which MJ did not let it happen.. now time will replay their life.

Rudra coming to the party now only because of Maya and she praying God to get her out of this..Rudra will get her out of this and stand as her protection already..

Also Antara needs to be liberated.. either after the attack she will take more pills and die or stop taking pills and start thinking how to get out of this humiliating life..either ways it will weaken MJ..

For Rishi.. the time is yet to come.. 10 to 15 days..looks like Maya is playing something from the past with Rishi and MJ.. I feel because remember Rudra loved someone and MJ interference led to something.. now its Rishis turn . mJ might take the same route. But Maya is prepared this time around for him.. She will make Rishi move away as well.. Her revenge is with MJ but she will clear all his support system before that..

Lastly I am more awaiting MayRa scenes from the party than anything else 😆
