According them whatever happened it was 10 years ago for both Maya and Rudra. So they must be around 20, now it depends on one's nature how serious or connected one can be. Some love deeply and some can't ever love that deeply. So i can agree with their characterization. The problem is this past. Exact same year... It appears these events are interconnected but still Rudra and Maya knowing each other in past doesn't make sense. Hope they connect all the dots and give proper past stories. Otherwise bad base will destroy the beauty of the show.

Antara being weak and NOT vile is absolutely helpless. She neither has the motive nor the inclination to do something evil. But someone has to push her and corner her for her to act. Which is what she did today. She probably likes MJ, also Coz He represents strength and power. I doubt she's with him for money. The way she almost melted into him today, MJ knows she wants him and uses that for his benefit. Weak people have this tendency to seek approval from the powerful ones to falsely reassure themselves that they are worthy of that approval, and therefore aren't as weak and as hopeless as they believe themselves to be. They can also resort to drugs and such intoxicating substances to escape into an illusory world where they are the rulers and conquerors and the reality of their non-achievements doesn't come to attack them.
Antara is the perfect case for the above.
MJ - He's got strength as well as motive. His motive might be as flimsy as butter paper. However, he strongly believes in them. For him, knowing about his sons' whereabouts 24x7 is extremely crucial to him..therefore it becomes crucial by definition. Even though in general parlance, it may be silly and unnecessary concern. He's got strength, in a way that he believes everyone's below him, beneath him, he can use anything and everything to get what he wants, how he wants. He can also justify it the way he wants to. And he can supremely conquer the weak, like how he clearly bludgeoned Antara using her own weakness for him and her drugs.
That said, I do believe he loves his sons, however bad he might be.
I agree with you on this. I also mentioned it before in other post that Antara isn't evil person. She is completely trapped. It started with MJ controlling her in earlier stages but later her own dependent nature was exploited by MJ. Now he completely man handle her.. make her work on his terms.. doesn't give her any value even after such a long marriage. So i am sure at one point she is going to stand against him.. reason can be anything her son, maya's manipulation but she has been oppressed for so long that it will come out against MJ. She knows a lot about MJ and his ways. But she doesn't know what happened between Rudra and MJ 10 years ago. Rudra didn't tell anything to a single soul.. Wow.. 10 years is a long time. Makes me wonder Is he also going to snap at some point in future?
