2. That's just it right. When everything is over, MJ will realize that the person he actually loved and cared for the most, the one that was utmost important for his survival is Antara. There are going to be deaths in this show and Antara's is possibly one of them.

3. But that's just it. You cannot control ice. Ice can melt, ice can freeze, ice can hurt. Ice is the reason the Titanic sank. Ice is the reason that there are so many accidents on the roads each year. But ice is also the reason we stay cool in the summer. MJ is trying to control something that is uncontrollable to a major extent.

Yes. I agree with 3. That MJ is trying to largely control what cannot be controlled. He believes he can control his children but he really can't. But the pertinent question here is, why does he feel he needs to control them? I am sure MJ has got a past as well.

I have a cousin who developed breathing difficulties after an almost drowning accident. His condition returns when we go to vacation near water (beach/lake etc.)

Yes. That's very likely. I think he has claustrophobia but it gets specifically triggered around elevators coz of the MJ-ExGF incident.

Rudra is a weapon, but is he so easily discardable? Time will tell.

True I agree. But in a battle that is consumed by hatred, won't the battle and the victory also get subsumed within the rage of hatred? Again time will tell. Is Maya fighting to be a victor? Or she's fighting to cause mass destruction while also getting destroyed in the process. Maya isn't just a fighter/player in the battle. She's also using herself as a weapon. Would she survive the battle and emerge victorious? Or would she succumb to the same but still win? Destruction is the birth of creation for posterity, and is the ultimate solution to plague and problems, when nothing in the present is worthy of survival in the future. Maya should probably have listened to her Mom about moving on, in life. One thing is to fight for justice, completely another to believe destruction is justice. Sorry I got a little carried away. 😆 We'll see what's in store for us.

You all are so thoughtful and observent.

I, however stopped looking for symbolisms in hindi serials long time ago because I have no hopes from writers regardless of how wonderfully it begins. I stopped watching Beyhadh 1 midway because every character became annoying so I'm not too optimistic about this one.

I'm enjoying this one for now and taking everything at face value without thinking too much. 😆

Yesterday's episode was really good. the elevator scene was done well so, all thanks to dialogues and performances. we found out that Rudra has claustrophobia, which then triggered a full blown panic attack. I liked how maya helped him come out of it; not by coddling but by encouraging. Rudra helped himself, maya only guided him. It was important life lesson for everyone; one cannot be chained by anything or anyone, you have to break free yourself because others may not be there to lend a hand. it is not easy but so worth it at the end.

Rain sequence was shot well and the song was used at the right place. There is something so liberating about the rain, isn't it? it cleansed away rudra's negative emotions. wonderful scene and ugh shivin is so attractive.

Ananya is lovely, I'm slowly warming up to her. Her camraderie with Rudra is so nice to watch, and thank god their relationship is normal. Saanjh and Arjun always irritated the heck out of me, they are the reason I stopped watching beyhadh 1.

I don't think Rudra is in love with Maya , he is intrigued by her many shades but not love for now. One thing I like about this season is that Rudra and Maya are on the same level, they both have strong personalities and self respect. so it would be fun to watch them play on the same field instead of one overpowering the other (like in beyhad 1) I kind of want to see Rudra's passion for maya because jennifer and shivin are on fire and shivin is very impressive on screen. Don't know if CV's will give us that.

She too contained herself into a small space where as rudra gave his hand and pulled her out and she found solace in him.. But in turn when Rudra was stuck into his past pain, Maya did not comfort back but gave him the strength to fight that battle and open the doors and release himself.. the time he did that, he won his battle.. Maya still did not win hers but Rudra cant have two battles at a time.. for her he has to fight for her and only her..

The song and rain part was so aesthetically shot ❤️.. the title track has this haunting bg in the beginning which gives me goosebumps..with that rain bit it sat so well.. and Maya is Krishna.. she actually opened the gita and gave him her words.. and Maya is not that typical revenge of killing someone.. the wrong that each one did will kill them.. like she said karm hi phal hai.. their karm will take them where they belong..

Mj and Rishi are giving me similar vibes now.. MJ doesnt have any feelings for antara what so ever even after 30 years of marriage.. he doesnt have a ounce of feeling on his face saying that to her either.. she being there for him, the only gain is his sons and diya may be.. rishi again for him it's all about his ego and controlling Maya now.. he hardly met her few times but he has decided that she has to be with him..he cant take being rejected and now his ego has already come fore..Rishi for his ego will go ahead to declare love and marriage only to ensure control over Maya.. marriage is a sense of control for both MJ and Rishi..

The whole challenge was same for Rudra and Rishi to get Maya.. Rudra endured the physical pain and his ego did not come his way wether it was to sell fish on the road or get beaten up at the fight club or even hurting himself to save maya.. he was ready to let go of her for his self respect.. Rishi has none of those.. he doesnt have self respect, he kept calling her even though she did not answer his calls.. his ego to tell his friends that it was maya who loves him and then now faking his hand cut to get maya to meet him.. rudra did not need MJs name and he made his own..Rishi has to use MJs name to gain control..

Ananya Rudra were cute.. he actually values her friendship a lot.. sometimes we should just value the relationship we have than pushing it to get more out of it.. Rudra did not want her to towel his hair .. he doesnt like intimate closeness with Ananya.. but the words about Maya being a book was beautifully written and shivin did a great job in executing that bit..I had srk feels from dil toh pagal hai who was talking about his maya in that.. 😆

Precap looks like the epi will be dedicated more ro Rishi maya today..so I have less expectations..

@ Bold: Yet both reactions seem so right. With Maya, she needed to be consoled because she has given up on love and been betrayed, so finding solace in someone's arms was the right move. With Rudra, he needed to be pushed because if he wasn't then he would never be able to let go of the past. In one day, both were pushed into a corner and came out that much stronger.

@ Red: Yes! I've rewatched that rain scene like 5 times and I still can't get enough. The CVs, the crew, and Shivin did a marvelous job with that scene. It made you feel exactly what Rudra was feeling and, oh my god, it was priceless. I think Maya will kill someone, but more likely than not, her revenge will lead to people either going mad or dying because of their own actions in response to hers.

@ Blue: Oooh good point. Maya was testing Rishi as well. And both did as she expected in the tests. Somewhere she knew Rishi was MJ's son through and through and she knew Rudra, in the end, would shine through while keeping his self-respect intact because he's not like MJ. Now she's responding to both based on that. She's keeping Rishi on a short leash to use him against MJ, but building Rudra into a weapon that will attack MJ on his own in a way.

Yet which battle isn't consumed by hatred? In ancient times, why did one king attack another king? Not just to usurp his land because he could have chosen any other king, but why that one in particular? Because that king might have done something to enrage him and deserved to be first on the hit list. Why did WWI happen? Why did WWII happen? Why did the US choose to side with Britain against Germany? Why did Germany start WWII? These all have to do with hatred as well. In recent times, why did the US wage war on terror in Iraq? Why specifically Iraq and Afghanistan? Is there not someone's inherent rage there that they decided to start in Iraq specifically and then move outwards? I'm arguing that all battles, all wars, all acts of inhumanity happen because of some hidden rage and hatred towards another. Heck, the bullies in school attack certain students because of hatred towards that student and themselves in a way as well.

I do agree with you. Maya is using herself as a weapon as well. And all this symbolism and foreshadowing makes me believe that she could end up perishing at the end as well. It reminds me of Anjaam. Madhuri's character took her revenge by using herself as a weapon. And when it came time to end the battle, she willingly destroyed herself to win the battle and destroy SRK's character. Do the CVs have something similar in store for us? I don't mean similar in terms of scenes, but like ending.

I think we both got carried away. That's what a good show does.

@ Bold: I wouldn't give up on all serials. There are some that have done really well in terms of symbolism. Maybe check some of those out: Mahakumbh, Rishton Ka Chakravyuh, Ek Tha Chander Ek Thi Sudha, Rakht Sambandh (especially during the revenge sequencing), Dil Se Di Dua (especially during Jhanvi's journey in becoming Sia), Pukaar - Call for the Hero. These are all shows that were filled with symbolism and did well. Yes the first two ended up getting botched towards the end, but that was mostly because they suddenly got cut short by the channels and so the PH had to rush to finish the shows properly. And RS and DSDD weren't always full of symbolism, but at specific timings those shows were brilliant and had a well-written story.

I think we both got carried away. That's what a good show does.

Taking your example of the World Wars, the Allies won in its basic sense of the war. But at the end, no one was a winner. Everyone was a loser. England suffered for years, Japan took such a long time to recover, Germany had to rebuild itself, even US suffered even though it emerged as a super power. At that point in time, US was probably a super power in a world of no power. My point was just that. Every battle is waged for hatred, but Maya here is consumed with it, that in a battle between Maya and her hatred, her hatred has completely overpowered her. We have see history as to where it took those rulers. Ashoka after Kalinga. The victory only brought losses to him. Of course that case is different. Coz he reformed. But you get the gist.

Dec 18th - Caught in the Trap

Caught in the Trap - And it's done. Rishi is caught. He is trapped. And there's no escaping it now. Rishi walked into Maya's trap easily and blindly. By the time he realized he was caught, it was too late. Maya drew the trap around him well. By playing hard to get and then by showing her "love", she drew him in with a good foundation. She forced him to accept he loves her. Then she made him feel helpless and finally she played him into proposing to her even though he never intended to. Marriage was never in the cards. Rishi just wanted to have fun with her and then leave her. MJ's son through and through. Even the red colour and fake act of cutting himself was something that MJ would have thought up. A cunning move to trap an "innocent" girl.

One thing to note here is that when Maya said tumhare aapno ne dhokha diya tha, Rishi's reaction was completely opposite to what MJ or Rudra's reaction would have been. Maya easily manipulated her words to mean all rich people, but both MJ and Rudra would have seen right through the generalization to understand that Maya is talking about the Roy family in specific. Rishi just accepted whatever Maya threw at him because he was getting so overwhelmed.

Finally the last thing I want to talk about here is how misunderstood Rishi is. Rudra and Ananya didn't see the actual problem Rishi was having. They were just fighting over their differing opinions. The problem is that in his junoon of getting Maya, Rishi himself got trapped in this. He can't tell anyone about Maya and yet he realizes how stuck he is as well. It'll be interesting to see what he does to try and get out of this mess. I honestly doubt he'll do much because someone or the other will taunt his ego and he'll keep forging ahead blindly.

Pyaar ek din teri jaan lelega. Foreshadowing or just a red herring? The way the CVs drove home that point with the echo makes me think the latter. We already have a strong inkling that Rishi will die. How many more times will they punctuate it? And the repeated punctuations on it make it less and less likely that this will happen.

BTW, these 3 are awesome. Shivin's actions at hamari koi problem nahi hai teri shaadi cancel were the highlight, but these 3 have such a good camaraderie, it shows. I bet offscreen they have become friends as well, which is why their scenes are so easy to believe and see.

MJ's first mini loss - Without even knowing who was doing this, MJ had an inkling that he was being drawn into a game and had suffered a loss. Rishi ignored his call for the first time ever and it was a loss for MJ. His first loss.

Rudra and Ananya's sleepover - Oh god these two. They are such good friends and yet hilarious as hell. It was cute that the CVs made Ananya a snorer. And thank you for making her sleep clothes look realistic! But who watches CID in a sleepover? Daya se Maya tak. Sahi hai Rudra beta. D aur M ka hi toh antar hai. And her entry in CID made him jump in surprise. Chalo at least the CVs haven't started some filmi love track where the guy sees the girl everywhere for no reason. Makes sense though that Rudra saw Maya like that. She had a big impact on him in one day already.

Behind closed doors - Up to now we had seen only one facet of MJ, the facet that was out in the open. Cunning, clever, cold, and controlling. But now we're seeing the real MJ. The one that is behind closed doors: cruel and calculating. These are the 6Cs that define MJ. The real MJ. MJ doesn't need Antara supposedly, but he can't do without her either. She's the only one that ties Rudra to MJ. And if Maya does away with Antara, then the only link tying Rudra to MJ is also gone. Then what will MJ do?

Filing away the feel - Point to note, Maya only does this every time Rishi touches her. She touched Rudra, Rudra touched her (in fact held her) and yet she did nothing of the sort. That's because Rishi is MJ Part 2 - I'm Rishi Mrityunjay Roy. On the other hand, Rudra doesn't even want to use the name Roy - like when he introduced himself to Nandini.

Considering herself a vessel of God - Maya is not doing anything or killing anyone because she wants to but because she thinks God wants to through her. Interesting. So that means there will be deaths by her hand, but only because God himself can't do it directly.

Immersing herself - Maya is repeatedly immersing herself in water. That's her way of fighting her fear. She was almost drowned in water. Now she needs to remind herself that it's nothing to be scared of.

Additionally, this is a way of repeatedly cleansing herself of the day's deeds. By immersing herself completely, she comes out everyday "reborn". It's like the first episode, a new Maya dawns everyday, ridding herself of the past.

Precap - I doubt that MJ and Maya were speaking to each other. MJ is probably speaking to Maya's hidden friend who won't be hidden any longer and Maya was speaking to Rudra or Ananya. There's no way that MJ wouldn't have recognized Maya's voice like that or at least wouldn't have felt that it was a familiar voice.

Amazing post Shreya smiley32

Maya gave Rishi the taste of his own medicine. He wanted to blackmail her and possess her to boost his ego. Ismein kitna percent pyaar hai, bhagwan hi jaane smiley44 She smartly twisted the situation to bring everything unto Rishi.

Remember the first time Rishi had accidentally touched her hand, she poured on it a streaming cup of coffee right then and there. After that she seems to have mentally prepared herself for the ordeal so that she does not react like that at least on his face.

But she actually cut her wrist which shows to what extent she can go to ensue her revenge. When said masoomo ki bali chadti hai looking at her wrist, I felt she is using herself as a bali in her own war.

There is an interesting parallel between Rishi and Rudra. Rishi is not even sure about loving Maya but he is all set to possess her to satisfy his ego. Whereas Rudra's mind is full of Maya's thoughts, ever since she helped him break the doors of his fears. Her shades intrigue her, he wants to know her more, he can submit his ego in front of her. But he isn't sure it is love.

MJ was so cruel to Antara, I felt bad for her. But that's the life she chose to live, she doesn't have the guts to turn tables like Maya and threaten to leave instead.

Edit: This struck me later. The way Maya said wada karo jab tak zinda ho mere saath rahoge, I feel first he would go Duryodhan's way, then his Duryodhan self might take a detour an become an Abhimanyu. He might die fighting her battle for her. Rudra once said Rishi was almost like his baccha.
